| If you got this in your studio, chances are you're not visiting these forums. You're probably too busy reading the manuals in the can. Nice gear though, must cost as much as a decent house. |

heh heh.. I don't see how anyone can really use this for producing trance/techno though.. it's for more of a proffesional recording studio setup.. |

Talking about excession.. I think they should have had atleast 3 of those lcds on there, and maybe one less fader bank, look at the things, they practically go on to infinity in that first pic..

heh, true..
it's like this guy who posted his studio a few months ago.. must of had $100,000 USD in gear.. every major synth from jp8080, to virus, to Tinity and the songs SUCKED.. It's all about getting accostimed to and comfortable with a small amount of good hardware.. |

some things you must know about this console......
- no audio signal actually runs through it.... it's all a control surface that controls a software console (pro-tools)
- you can infinitely add sections to the board in 8 channel increments, for more channels to control at once if need be
- it costs half as much as the same size digital or analog mixing console from such companies as Neve or SSL, etc.
yea it's quite the impressive piece of gear.
and i'm not a spokesman for the company... i just love their gear, it looks so much more modern than all the huge analog or digital signal-routed consoles. |

Hahaha, for a second I thought that was a picture of a stadium and that was the biggest LCD screen I'd ever seen in my life.
But that looks reaaally nice, not for those of us who already have enough that they have to pay for. |

Yeah, and sadly this is becoming common in pro studio's too. Imo the looks is the last thing I look for consoles. It must sound good and have a hands on approach.
Seriously, if I had the money to make a big studio, I'd take a "boring" looking SSL 9000k (the pinnacle what can be made today) over the Icon. It looks way more boring than the Protools control surface, but it burries it in sound quality. Yes, it costs more too :D But as always, you get what you pay.
For the drooling fans :
