With the Piccoto thread underneath a thought just hit me.
What will happen when all the big names like PVD, Tiesto, Burren etc wil funaly go to rest as in leave the DJ scene and relax with their families??
Well we will have few new DJs around but the really big guys will be just a thing of the past?
Whats are your views on this ? |

Markus Schulz, Marco V, Mark Norman, etc... They'll take up after the current leaders of the pack once they step down.

and Mark OH will make a great return :haha:
no seriously I dont really think all the bigname djs will start giving up what they have.. Maybe they'll just make a year off and then return.. You see music is in their blood. They can't live without it. A good example can be taken from rockmusic. Alot of the dinosaurs in rock music are still in business (rolling stones for example) If Picotto takes his time off Im definatelly sure that he WILL return in some time.
maybe in the next 20 years mtv will start a show "the buuren's" like todays osbournes :D the whole dj industry will be going more and more commercial that's for sure. |

| The problem is that djing, (especially trance) works a bit in a fascist. The dj is god, people praise him and he controlls everything including what is realeased and what is not through his record label that also gives him tha ability to edit the tunes (i.e. PVD) therefore to get djs as big as the ones we have now they probably will need to get rich richer than the ones now. I boubt that Vandit black, hole record, zunami, etc. will give up... |

| Open your eyes, there are many DJ's out there with talent far greater than your big names like tiesto, armin, etc. You just need to see past the fame, and look hard enuf. |

I agree but will this djs with talent pull as many fans as the big djs? |

| I wonder how popular laptop/computer/non-traditional turntable DJing will be in a decade . . . |

VERY popular, and perhaps the preferred choice...Paul van Dyk already does it. I believe he lugs a laptop around with all his vinyl's ripped in uncompressed HQ AIFF |
