good websites for new producers?

Does anyone know of any real good websites for someone who is just starting out producing? Stuff with content not just links everywhere?
Specifically I'm looking for information about what different kinds of drum kits do what, the theory behind chords and stuff like that so that I can at least have some knowledge of what I'm doing instead of just putting stuff together.
Y'see most new producers dj first so they learn all this stuff through years of talking with friends about favorite tracks, etc....not this one though...2.5 years of dancing are what I've gotten from this scene. I've tried dj'ing and I'm actually pretty good considering I've probly spent a total of 5 hours trying, I think it's from dancing to it for so long if that makes sense...Anyway, I get really bored really quickly haha So I figure maybe I would try my hand at doing something I got a bit more control over. :)

| i'm not sure myself, try asking the same question in the next forum down, 'amatuer djs and music producers promotion', you'll probably get more of a reply there |
