I dare someone to answer this with some kind of sincerity. |
The 4/4 beat pattern is used in most music today, rock, pop, house, trance, dnb, etc. I don't know exactly how it influences your mind but I do know it induces dancing by effecting your nerves somehow. Wow answering takes more work than I thought, but it was my sincere attempt. Also who is reporting that Goa is the best trance? |

| I'd like to take this moment to mention that the first poster's location is stated to be (at the time of this posting) "GOA." |

It's just subjective for people calling their favorite types of music the best. For me, progressive sound is my preferred choice.
When I listen to music, my mind initially reacts to how the sound affects my emotions, then I may be curious enough to go into analyzing why the sound sequence affects my mind.
4x4 beat better with drum and bass sound? Umm, I am not sure. I think it's highly related to your mood. When I drive on a street where many college age chicks hang out, I tune my freaking volume up blasting AP's Let There Be Light; when I feel exhausted after school and work, I just roll up windows to play some Duncan Sheik On A High type of songs... |

4/4 rules but here in britain people are bored of 4/4 in general. Therefore thats why dnb came out here first. Nu school breakbeat is going to be HUGE.
As for goa trance.....for hippies! |

For your informations those genres are mostly 4/4 as well. Just because the beat isn't doesn't mean the tune isn't. |

Who said? In that case, everything is 4/4 then. |

alot of elitists claim that goa is one of the purest forms of trance, without the massive buildup-breakdown-buildup-breakdown form seem common today in alot of trance *cougharmincough*. i think even on ishkurs site he says the same. i dont really know the validity of these comments, but i guess i understand where the people are coming from.
i dont know if that ^^ is even remotely coherent.. too damn tired |
