Arrghh! Help me!

I finally got my decks and started spinning on Wednesday, and since then the only time the slipmats have stopped going round has been when I am asleep! I'm gonna wear out my styluses and vinyl by next week at this rate! Someone help me stop, please?!

But seriously though, spinnin' and lovin' it. Couple of questions though...

Anti-skating.
Had it set to zero to begin with, and had a lot of problems with skipping while back cueing. I turned it up to about 2 and it seems to be fine now. Is this a good thing or a bad thing? (By the way, I'm not using Technics :(, I'm using the worst decks ever to be manufactured, the SoundLab DLP1600 - which is in fact identical in every way to the Gemini XL-100 except for the badge.)

Tracking weight.
I started with the tracking weight pretty high, on about 3 grams. As I get better, I'm reducing it slowly, and I'm now on 1.5 grams. What should I be aiming for? Is ths too high/low?

Thanks guys!

another infected fellow...

I use 2.5 g. Go as low as you can without getting problems with skipping. It's better for your vinyl.
With Tecs, afaik you are supposed to put the anti-skate on the same number as the counter weight is, so I set it to 2.5 and it works fine. Dunno if its the same with your TT.

The anti-skate should be set the same as the weight on your counter-balance. If the weight is set to 2gms. then set the anti-skate to 2

Thanks for the tips guys!
