How to solve the refugee problem? The Croatian government knows the answer!!!

Well, I suppose that some of you may already know about the local refugee problem, but I'll start with putting up a bit of a history lesson for those who don't. The war that broke out in the 90's and caused the destruction of Yugoslavia had also caused a great shift in local ethnic structures. Many serbs from Croatia moved to Serbia or Bosnia while many croats from Bosnia moved to Croatia. Now, the settlement of that large amount of people into Croatia was a pretty large housing problem, so they were mostly put into the abandoned serbian houses. Their houses in Bosnia were mostly burned down, and even those whose houses weren't didn't really want to go back to their prior location anyway, either because of the bad economy or because of the great shift in the local ethnic structure. That sort of a status quo was functioning for a while, before the normalization of the relations between the 3 countries occured.
What happened is that the serbs started to demand the reinstation of ownership upon their houses, while the croats didn't really have anywhere to go back to, as their former houses were destroyed and it still doesn't seem like they are going to be reconstructed anytime soon. Add to that that they were mostly enlisted in the croatian military and the government is therefore obliged to supply them with housing if their houses were destroyed. On the other hand, the EU demands that the problem be solved in order for Croatia to join the union. That would require large amounts of money which is something this country always desperately lacks.
So, what's the solution to the problem of having too many people and not enough houses? Make them share those houses! So, instead of denying the serbs the right of ownership, or chasing away the croatian guys to live on the street, those people will be forced to live in the same house! The only problem is, those serbs were chased away by croatian (para)military forces, and those croats had their houses burned down largely by serbs. Many of those people have PTSP and a nice collection of guns and granades at home. It's kinda like making israelis and palestinians live together. Already there are reports of violent clashes between the tennants, and it's probably just a matter of time before they start shooting each other off or something. I really wonder how this project will work out. |

Of course it will work! Being in such close proximity will force them to learn to understand each other and live in perfect harmony.
...OK I lied, they will probably kill each other. :p |

From what they're saying, they'll most likely have the police officers force the tenants to accept them. I guess that what goes on afterwards is no longer a government concern.
