Auto:
Horsepower 197 @ 7200 rpm
Torque 164 @ 5000 rpm
Manual:
Horsepower 238 @ 8500 rpm
Torque 159 @ 5500 rpm
So depending on how good you are, you could go faster with the manual, depending on rev speed and all that...
The manual is also 40lbs. lighter. |

well the whole point of heal and toe is to get the best speen in a corner and come out of it with as much speed as u can..... in public roads this doesnt need to be going on..:rolleyes: plus the car is for his mom, not for the track |

drag racing, u dont have time to push the clutch and reach for the shift nob, .... so they use automatics, u change a gear in 1 second, by the time ur in 3rd, u would of lost 2 seconds or about half the race just shifting.....
F1 they us the SMG style gears. its not the same as the ones on the road though, they are much more faster gear changes, and the car doesnt change it for you if you forget, u have to do it or ull overrev and kill the engine.... as raikkonin did this weekend:( |

rofl reason why most ppl think auto cars go slower is because they have them configured wrong as is this case:
Auto:
Horsepower 197 @ 7200 rpm
Torque 164 @ 5000 rpm
Manual:

the horsepower is 197 @ 7200rpm yes however you can change the auto so that it will in fact change geer @ 8500 rather than 7200
an automatic car is not 40lbs heavier, and formula 1 cars use tiptronic transmission - a combination of auto and manual |

We have just got an RX-8, and I just received my driving license :D
I can't express in words how fun it is to drive. I'm an imbecile when it comes to cars, but accelerating to 80 km/h in second gear in just a couple of seconds just kicks ass. It's manual btw.

| RX-8 are great cars, but be farwarned, if anything does go wrong with any of the 4 moving parts in the engine.... look for a very big bill. problem with rotarty engines is when they get ed, they are totally ed 9 times out of 10... Hello new block....but kudos are still in order to the mazda and ford engineers who vastly improved on the older versions of the rotary engine. |

I wouldn't call f1 gearboxes automatic, more like semiautomatic, the driver still got to shift up and down himself. |
