| Cause the Expos don't have any money to begin with, they sell their players to richer teams once they become good and want huge contracts.Kinda like my Marlins but at least the Marlins had alot of talented young guys and won the championship last year. The fans in montreal see all that bull and their smart so they don't even go to the games. So Montreal has no revenue.I heard they might move to D.C. |

you CANT blame it on ownership. because they are owned by mlb. anything they do has to go thru the other teams and bud selig first. and they offered vlad a 5 year 72 million contract, but he declined.
plus, even when the expos were winning in '94, people still weren't showing up. montreal just isnt a good baseball city.
they hopefully will decide where to move them by the all star break. two most likely places are d.c. like you said and northern virginia. |

are you in montreal in 1994???
the olympic stadium was full
i think you'r not right.
the problem was Jeffrey Loria and his gay associate davaid samson
they shut down the team
they said that they will built a new stadium.....but they don't do it... |

actually the second half of the 94 season was packed...
from mlb.com
| quote: |
Aug 12, 1994 The season comes to an end when the players go on strike, thus ruining what would likely have been the finest season in Montreal's history. The Expos finish 6.0 games ahead of the Braves in first place in the NL East with a 74-40 record, the best in baseball, and are first in both wins and win percentage in the majors, ahead of the Yankees. The Expos finish 34 games over .500, the highest mark at the end of any season.

and that year there was not postseason, nor any world series... Montreal fans were furious and never forgave the MLB for this.
Then came Loria and his goons, taking off the expos from tv, making the fans completely loose intrest, then proceeding to sell the team with a profit... ing thieve. |

| I read somewhere that Montreal might move to Portland and not DC. |

Why MLB think that an other town like portland or whatever
will be a better place for baseball??? |

| It'll be a miracle if the Expos get a break and stay in Montreal. |
