| This happens to be tuned in in the house I'm currently at... but with all the multitasking I'm doing as of right now, I'm listening with only half an ear. I'll pay attention and then comment :p |

Wow...popular topic. Much like Al Franken!:D
I'd actually be curious to hear it sometime. Is it not going to be broadcast nationwide? or is that something that's in the works? |

They're in the process of getting airtime on more radio stations (right now they're on 5 or 6 I think). You can get the live stream at their website above, provided you have Real Player. |

Hey! You're not supposed to be able to hear the radio through all that foil! I thought you bolted it on! Or have liberals devised a way to permeate foil??? :nervous:
/Runs to bolt on 10-gallon hat and listen to country music. |

| I should reserve judgment about Air America, but I have distaste for shows designed around a political ideology either liberal or conservative. I don't need to listen to someone spin the news to reinforce my beliefs. I'd rather get my news from an unbiased source and draw my own conclusions. I hope this isn't going to be another Rush who purports to tell it like it is. Sometimes I worry that America is becoming polarized by the two party system, that pits people against each other, liberal vs. conservative. |

What's this about Al Gore starting a media network?

I heard about 10 minutes of it today. A few thoughts immediately come to mind.
Al Franken is kind of like Dennis Miller - he's intelligent, but can't connect with his audience. After a few shows, you just get bored listening.
Also, I wonder how long you can make a network last that has a sole purpose to criticize others. If Kerry wins the next election, the purpose of the network is dead. Rush is actually a well-balanced show, and as evidenced by his success when George Bush 1 and 2 were/are in office, doesn't need to rip on someone to keep his listeners.
Conservatives fled to talk radio because of the liberal bias in the press. Air America does not share that same demographic. |

To be fair I think you really need to give the show a chance to get off the ground. Its not like Rush Limbaugh's show went 0 to 100mph in one show. |

When I tune into his show, all I hear is his ripping into various people from Hillary Clinton to Richard Clarke. I would hardly call tht well-balanced. ;)
Of course this new Democrat network doesn't seem to be too much different, but we'll see.
The thing about right-wing talk radio is that it seems as if they are almost reading from the same script prepared for them by Karl Rove.
You can listen to Rush, Hannity, Ingrahm, but it doesn't matter because they are all uttering the same sound bytes and talking points. |
