I just seen the power core element for $799.00 cdn at a local store.. and PowerCore Access Virus $554.99 cdn..
I know its eaven cheaper in states..
Anyone here considering this combo?. It's really tasty, and to be honest compared to powercore firewire it's little bit over one third of it's price.. SO that's a great deal, Plus you can run all the same plugins that a powercore firewire version has to offer, except that reverb Master X, which you can get it as well if you buy it later on or something... But the Virus sound's tempting plus all the other stuff, and extra procesing power.. I have a virus c, but I woudn't mind another one hehehe
I think i am gonna go and teke the element for the test drive on the weekend... |

Seems pretty silly to me. If you don't know how to use your virus properly, buying another one isn't going to help. |

| Well Virus is just a bonus, what i mean is that the card is pretty wicked and comes with some great effects and plugins.. And since the price isn't as close to what it is for powercore firewire i think it's a good deal.. A lot of people have the original powercore and they are pretty happy with them..... It's alvays nice to have the extr processing power... |

| how did this work out for you? I'm curious as to how the Powercore Virus sounds Vs. a real Virus C. |

Hey Alanzo..
Well i don't have the full version of the virus for the powercore yet, But i did try the limited demo, and I tried it more than once, In fact i've been playing around with it so much lately, and I am amazed, It's really good. Does it sound as good as my virus c?, well it's close, in fact I don't know what to say yet. Virus C is hardware and yes it's great, virus for the powercore is amazing, best soft synth i heard so far,First time I loaded it up I was amazed. Sounds so clean and crisp.. I know I will be using this one alongside my virus c for sure.. Listening to other soft synths that i have in my collection I must say it's one of the best software emulations I heard so far. I can say that it all depends what you're after. I got the powercore cause i needed more processing power, for compressors and such, I wasn't expecting the virus for the powercore to be so good, It's gonna be my favorite soft synth for sure. But i woudn't trade my real Virus C for anything.. hehe.. Just go to your music store and check the demo and you'll see for yourself.. But I am sure people will agree with me that's it's really good... |

| I'm beginning to wonder if the Virus on the Element will sound better than the hardware Virus because of the fact that the Element Virus needs no A/D conversion. |

| I don't think so, because most of the time that tiny bit of analog path gives that special amount of character. |
