Just got a jp8080 for my first hardware synth.

Having some troubles hooking it up.

My gear -

Steinberg - Cubase Sx 2.0
Roland - Jp8080
M-Audio - Radium 40
Midiman - 2x2
M-Audio - Audiophile 2496

I have tryed multiple ways and things to get the sounds out of the jp8080 and non have workd. Can any one lend a hand?

thanks!

Lots of people on here could help you for sure, but it might have been faster to check the manual?

Kuruption and rb2k1 and Dj Rob have all had the 8080 I believe.

i got the same as u. But Im using JP8000 and M audio6/6

For me. My JP roland goes to my mixer, perhaps u can get the adapter to plug to ur audiophile 2496 as its on RCA.

then ur MIDI of JP8080 can plug to ur MIDI 2X2 (Channel A).(In -> Out) (Out -> In)

Ur M Audio Radium to MIDI Channel B)

Midi 2x2 plug to ur USB port.

Then on ur Cubase.

On a Midi track, set ur Output to Channel A. Then U trigger ur usb controller. I believe it should have sound getting from JP8080. Because I tried this method to trigger my Drum machine from my Controller.

WIsh u luck on trying it. Hope Im right.:D
hey cheggy
Midi controller midi out --> computer midi in (either usb, audiophile or midisport, its up to you)

Computer midi out --> jp-8080 midi in
jp-8080 midi out --> computer midi in

jp-8080 audio out --> mixer or audiophile in if you don't have a mixer

So did u try to choose ur MIDI Output to MIDI SPORT A on ur MIDI Input Out put in ur cubase SX?? (which your MIDI I/O is patch to ur USB Controller)

Because one u got that, when u trigger, u should have the sound coming out. Mine ROLand JP8000 also not found in Cubase but this is wat I did. Good Luck mate.

Holy - I got it working! =)

I actually set it up just as hey cheggy described but sound wasnt coming out.

Then for some reason when looking around i noticed my driver for the radium wasnt working so had to download the update off line . then it started working!

Any one know how to start from a blank patch? Or a link to where i can download the manual! damn ebay.

thanks josh and cheggy!

Its gonna be a long night tonight!
