| i just now replaced my old power supply which was somwhere between 250-300W i'm guessing. I put in a new 400W power supply and realized that my motherboard requires a 250-300W power supply with a 6-pin aux connector. The 400W supply i just installed works fine but when the computer starts up, it takes longer than it did with the old power supply. i'm assuming that the reason it's taking longer to start up is because of the new supply and the lack of the 6-pin connector? Anyone else have any ideas as to why it's taking longer to boot up? and if it is because of the connector, are there any converters to convert a 4-pin plug to a 6-pin? thanks |

It wouldnt take longer to boot up because of the power supply- it either works or doesnt.
How the hell did you get the pins on there? just force it on?
lol
You're lucky you didnt fry the PS or worse the MB and ram and everything. get a new MB at least sheesh.
When you say it's taking longer- where is it taking longer at? The BIOS startup or the windows splash screen startup? |
