what an awesome night, for the most part i didn't even think gabriel & dresden were gonna show up when i walked into the club, it was too small, the dance floor was tiny and it was probably nothing like what they are used to playing at spundae and other clubs...
too bad half the people that were there didn't know who gabriel & dresden were, considering how short notice this was...
a couple of notes about the club: great atmosphere, plenty of drinks, nice touch with the pool tables in the lounge, sound system was damn good for a small club, although the DJs had some problem with the bass earlier (but that was fixed quickly). my only thing is, there were definetly not enough people there considering the DJs that were playing. G&D have attracted some huge crowds wherever they've gone, but last night was kinda small, maybe lke 30 people on the dance floor, 15-20 sitting at the tables, another maybe 40 in the lounge, a few in the smokers patio and not much else.....
OH and maribel, you were rite, 2am was closing time...sucked too, dresden was in the middle of a mix and they had him kill the song...
some memorable songs of the night:
depeche mode
foreplay
motorcycle - atrc (why they played it twice i don't now)
andain - beautiful things (read comment for ATRC)
motorcycle - imagination with the vocals from southern sun, this was tite
pvd - crush (totally blew me away)
also big ups to jason blakemore who opened the night for g&d. threw down a very good set, ranging in various genres, ending with a trance note for josh gabriel to take over...sadly neither of them used the turntables. gabriel used the live remixing program, and dresden used CDJs but damn what a set. my feet were too tired from dancing all nite and my hands hurt from clapping too hard

totally totally!!! When I got to the club I had no idea G&D were gonna be there.... you can imagine my surprise!!!
My friend walks up to me and told me "They're playing trance in the other room" so of course I had to go check it out. and it just happened to be G&D... crazy.
a good party all in all, a little too much house but... Depeche Mode song was dope. |

Man!! I can't believe I could'nt go. If it was'nt for this dumb fever I'm still trying to get rid off.:sadgreen: They were just less than t
10 miles from me and I could'nt make it. How long did they play for? I knew the club would'nt go past 2 am. I am not at all suprised the killed the song just because it was time. Oh well, I'll have to wait until the 24th. |

Someone else was originally book, so he was cancelled and G&D were added at the last minute.
Here's a tip...like G&D and live ont he west coast? Come on this board everyday - I'm a G&D whore ;p
