“What’s been going on with Swamper?” is a question that we have all been hearing a lot lately. First of all, we would like to thank everyone who helped make the premiere on August 7th a success. It was incredible to see such an outpouring of support and we were all very excited to see so many of you there. A new photo gallery is now up on www.swampermovie.com. If you have any other pictures from that night, we would love to see them and possibly get them up on the site! We also have some new video treats hidden around the site. Some TA’s will probably like the videos on the Soundtrack page (the best one – secret squirrel takes awhile to load, but it is worth it)

STATUS - Clint has been working hard on getting the sound and other technical issues fixed and Jordan is working on enhancing the cartoons (which already ended up stealing the show). Things are on schedule and a complete master will be done in time for the ‘05 film festival circuit. Tiff is also working hard on some additional art (including a movie poster) and Chris is almost done with the press kits. JP has a few radio appearances scheduled, so keep an eye out for more interviews on the site.

SWAMPER SCREENING/SHOWCASE - We have received commitments from several acts that appear on the soundtrack (Including MTV Canada’s - The High Children and Seattle Weekly’s Album of The Year - The Blue Scholars) to perform sets at a Swamper Showcase immediately following the next screening. Originally, we were targeting this winter, but were recently informed that a public screening would disqualify us for the Seattle International Film Festival. SIFF is in our backyard and it is a huge goal, so we are going to push the screening back a bit. If you haven’t already watched Swamper (or even if you already have), expect to see it as part of SIFF (if we get accepted) or at a large public screening (in case we aren’t accepted) sometime between May 19th and June 12. We are still working to make sure that the Swamper Showcase happens right after the screening. It will be a GREAT PARTY!

48 HOUR FILM CONTEST – PORTLAND – On Friday, August 20th, Andrew Collins was in Portland where a genre, character, prop and line of dialogue were pulled out of a hat. Teams then had 48 hours to write, shoot and edit a four to eight minute film containing those elements. WIND: The W. Winston Story was Team Swamper’s entry. It was directed by Kevin Gilbert (Burton Wallace), Written by Chris McBride (Shag) and Alisha Moore, and starred Clint Berquist and Sean McBride. It was an absolute blast! Keep your eyes out for a new pill link on the site soon.

NATIONAL FILM CHALLENGE – On Friday, October 1st, Team Swamper participated in the National Film Challenge (48 Hour Film Contest’s sister contest). Backseat Driver was the horror entry directed by Brian Shelley (Johnny Goodman), written by Mark Jessup, starring JP Moore (Jared) and Kevin Gilbert (Burton Wallace) and edited by Clint Berquist. We will get this posted on the site after the NFC Seattle Screening.

NFC SEATTLE SCREENING - NOVEMBER 16th @ 7PM – The Seattle area teams who participated in the National Film Challenge will all be screening their entries at The Rendezvous’ Jewel Box Theater (www.jewelboxtheater.com) on Tuesday November 16th at 7:00 PM. The cost is free, so if you are interested in seeing what local area filmmakers can do under the gun, come and check the shorts out. You will be in for a good time!

NICK RISH SELECTED FOR WB PILOT - Nick was recently selected for a WB pilot to be shot soon called, “Boys Behaving Badly”. It is a take off on some of the work he has been doing for the Oxygen Network’s “Girls Behaving Badly”. Stay Tuned for it. Congratulations Nick!

SLY COOPER 2 – Our boys at Suckerpunch Studios (Travis and Jordan) just had their critically acclaimed PS2 game Sly 2: Band of Thieves hit the market. If you get a chance, give it a play and let them know what you think. www.suckerpunch.com

THANKS! – More than anything, we want to thank everyone for all of the love and support these past 2 years. We have received a lot of positive feedback on Swamper and we will soon see if the rest of the world shares our opinion of the movie – the proof is definitely in the pudding.

We are in the process of finalizing our DVD art and I need to do some quick on the fly market research. Could you please take a look at the 17 photos

www.homepage.mac.com/clintberquist/PhotoAlbum193.html

and let me know which one would make you the most interested in seeing a film. If you could let me know your age, that would be great too. You can PM me or post the the thread. It doesn't matter.

I really appreciate your help!

Thanks,
Clint

semi-nakid pics of hot women in suggestive poses on the cover of the dvd are the only thing that will intice me to buy/rent a movie. none of those pics qualify, my dick didn't even flinch. so sorry its a no go. :sadgreen:

I'm not sure I understand the question. The movie isn't online yet. These are just low-res screen grabs that we are thinking about using as part of the DVD boxcover art.

If anyone is interested in checking out the weekend film challenge films from STIFF 2005, they can be viewed here..

http://www.storypipe.com/STIFF2005.shtml#

There is super some funny stuff. One of my favorites is Lotion Time.

Also, this guy Karl Krogstadt is a legend around the Seattle independent filmmaking scene and he filmed an episode of The American Avant Garde with Alex Gonzalaz and Gabe Dixon that can be viewed by clicking below...

The show airs every Thursday night on Seattle Channel (Comcast 21), and can also be seen on BCC 28 (Bellevue, WA) and in San Francisco, on EATV (Cable Channel 27).

http://www2.seattlechannel.org/media/videoList.asp?ID=6 ,

then click on "Season 2, Show #6" (9/30/2005). It's the latest show, currently at the top.

00:45 – 03:55 – first interview with Clint Berquist
08:30 – 14:20 – interview with Jeffrey French, including clips from “Win Each Way”
26:05 – 26:50 – second interview with Clint Berquist
