Strange experience with the cops

It's dark, raining. I make a turn and floor it. Going 75 in a 40 zone. I look in the mirror and see a car that also turned, but it's not going nearly as fast. I saw it moments earlier at the lights, it's just a regular car. Doesn't look anything like undercover cruisers. And yet at that very moment, it's like i heard a voice in my head scream "IT'S A COP!" So i immediately slow down to 50, look in the mirror again, and surely enough, flashing lights. I have NO IDEA how i knew, but i just KNEW. I've had things like this happen before, even recently. And i just couldn't explain them. I just knew about things that did not yet happen.
So we stop, he gets out of the car, walks up to mine and i tell him the story. At the moment, i was so shocked because of that voice in my head that i didn't really care about the ticket. He just shook his head and asked me for my license. Turns out i left it in my dress shirt at home since i just stepped out for a few minutes to grab a pizza. And my insurance papers too. So add this up: speeding 35 over, no license, no insurance. Plus points on the record that would cost me thousands of dollars in insurance. But this was probably the coolest cop that ever lived because he agreed to follow me home, and after seeing my papers, let me off completely. |

they can make estimates by pacing your car..the tickets arent as much this way
as well, the car might have had radar in it? Thats how they get me. |

| Don't they have radars in their cars? |
|

| They do, but they can't be moving while their using the radar, because it gives a false reading. |

the new LASER radars are capable of calculating the speed of the car in relation to teh speed of the cruiser. damn computer advancements |

According to thisthis web site, it says that if you can somehow give proof that a radar unit was not calibrated within a specific timeframe required by its police department, then the readings could be considered "unreliable". check these pages ...

As for laser radars - i'd imagine them to be more reliable... but that site is an interesting read nevertheless.
that said, if you get a traffic ticket - fight it no matter what. :whip: |

Yes - they set the speed of the cruiser and then they get a relative delta on their display. |

yes it is. My tickets all stand up.
they knock it down a few Ks to give you the benefit out the doubt, but when you are going 20 over... |
