virtually all afterhour clubs that don't serve alcohol charge a high cover.. i'm sure if u ran one u'd do the same, or risk going bankrupt fast!

well true, if you don't serve alcohol, that takes away from the primary income...i'm just surprised to see how many ppl on this site are rich, and willing to spend 30 bucks cover on a random nite...especially after paying cover somewhere else first?? damn, i wish i was so rich...

first you say random dj, then randon night... i wonder, do you even know the djs spinning there?

to me you sound like a close minded trance listener with no idea who is sander kleinenberg, Frankie Knuckles, Alain Vinet, Jeff Mills, Satoshi Tomeii, etc etc

Most people who have no connections @ other clubs with similar clientele as Boa, like System, usually pay $25 and up after midnight.

Boa offers a blanket cover of $10-15 (making it $20-25) reduced before 2 I believe depending on the DJ spinning, and it drops to $5 off before 4.

5 dollars more on average than other clubs after last call is not out of hand, and considering the great sound, atmosphere, staff, and talent on the decks there, I'd consider it a deal.

DJ Demi, one of the best up-and-coming djs in the scene right now just took on a bi-monthly residency, and kicked the crap outta me head on Saturday.

Boa has certainly made it's presence felt in the scene, especially with the talent lvl they bring in nearly EVERY weekend. Sander is making it twice @ Boa this week, Demi has been here twice already, Hex Hector is making it three times... and not to mention the appearance of hard to land Jeff Mills.

The above are ALL DJs that we haven't seen in Toronto @ all, or often..(in Mills case a few years).. not bad for a new club.

Is there any truth to that story that Sander once ran out of the booth and kissed the speaker because he liked the sound so much?

Just to add a comment to this:

Usually if you arrive at Boa before 2am, the cover is like $20. If you've been to Stereo in Montréal which is similar to Boa, the place opens at 3am and cover is usually $30...

We're very fortunate in Toronto to have a place like Boa... The talent they've brought in ever since they opened in December has been wicked. I've only been there once and I saw Satoshi Tomiie, awesome night BTW...

Paying $20 to see someone like Satoshi or Sander Kleinenberg play an 6 - 8 hour set is definetly worth the price.

And I know someone mentioned earlier, the staff is very friendly, I can echo that sentiment.

If the rumour is true about Tenaglia coming to Boa, I'd definetly pay $30 to see him :D

Friendly smiles all around... you wouldn't think that makes a difference but it does! And as Craig said, "i'll take a room full of high partiers over a room full of stumbling drunks any day of the week..." <-- so true!!

yea i love the boa staff!! that place is well worth the money.

guv on the other hand... ud have to pay me 30.. make it 50 to go there for one night.

I still need to pop my boa cherry.
