Traktor setup with external mixer.

The traktor docs are absolutely no help whatsoever and I cannot seem to find a *good* explanation of how to go about doing a setup with Traktor DJ Studio 2.5 and an external mixer.

Firstly, I need suggestions on a mixer that would work (unless every mixer works...)

Secondly, if any mixer works just fine, I need an explanation of HOW exactly I would set that up, MIDI wise.

There was one thread from a while back that asked a similar question and the closest I came to an answer was...

quote:
i use traktor 2.5.1 with the Dm2 setup as midi and numark 260 (w kaos pad) as external mixer.

Now my only question is... what the heck is the Dm2 =P

There was no reference made to it whatsoever in that thread.

Thanks in advance for any help.

okay dude its pretty simple really, it works with all mixers. Assuming you're using a minimum of an SBLive soundcard, which has 2 outputs, u can wire those outputs to your mixer's channel's LINE inputs.

eg:

SOUNDCARD OUT 1 (1/8)<--------------->(RCA) MIXER CHAN 1
SOUNDCARD OUT 2 (1/8)<--------------->(RCA) MIXER CHAN 2

Then go to your traktor settings, and check the 'Use External Mixer' box.

You will then be able to select which MIDI outputs to use.. normally its just 0, 1, 2, 3. The default settings should work.

Hope that helped=)

Oh crazy... so I don't need anything special that hooks up to my midi port on my Audigy. Good to know =) Thanks for the info.
