Alright, let's have a listen.

Very laid back! Heerlijk!
Treble seems to be a tad too high. Definitely lose a bit in that region. Bass is also not very booming, you might want to turn it up a bit.
Nice atmosphere in the track and nice build-up. The thing I miss in this track is a definite theme. Maybe you should add one in the break, would definitely make this track way better.

But don't get me wrong, this is indeed a very nice track. A 100% improvement compared to the other tracks. Look again at the mixdown and frequency spectrum and this is definitely release-worthy!

cheers,
illicit

ps: check your PM about our collaboration.

Hey Renco, iLLicit and azndragon0613, thanks for listening! ;)

I made a few tiny changes. I'm not changing too much cause I kinda considered this done and a don't want to the track up. I lowered the highs a tiny bit and gave the kick and bass a little more volume. You might not even notice, but it is less sharp. I made some other small changes, overall the track is exactly the same.

Here's the link

If anyone's interested in the MIDI, it can be found in the zip-file here

Again feedback appreciated, thanx in advance!

Hallo there Jay, checked this out a few days ago and wanted to post my thoughts (I've been doing a lot of chill stuff recently too).

Great tune, nice and chill, really grows on you the more you listen to it.

Firstly going to echo what I've consistently been saying, you are always improving, there is clarity and depth to your production. Very nice man, really glad I've given it a bit of time to settle before reviewing it.

I gotta love your textures to start - very good at producing a feel, in the way that Composer - Deep Morning does - makes me think of a rainy day sort o' thing.

I like what you're going for here. It's mellow and nice.

There's a lot of clarity to some of the voices which I really like. Nice use of FX. specifically like the fullness of the high end.

+ Love the clarity you've got going on in this, very clear and nice, good job man!

+ Using simple sounds that at the same time don't sound amateur at all. Great!

- Don't think much of that open hi hat. Dunno why, just too distracting to me.

- Seems to lack a bit of oomph to give it the groove if you know what I mean.

- Somehow feel that some of your hats and stuff obscure the pad a little bit (for my taste anyway). Not much.

Moody and evocative, nice. Good job dude, good job!! Specifically like the arpeggiated thing, slight yet cuts through. Great!

Two tumbs fresh!

:)

really loving the feeling of this tune! very nice and dreamy! and some nice productions skills here too!
but like others said, treble is a bit too high. but that's probably because i listened to the first version.
and i agree with bassangel on the open hihat. it distracts me too. or it is because i paid extra attention to it because of bassangels post:D
anyway, great piece of work you've got here!
looking forward to hear more from you!

Smooth work... I'd actually preffer it to be completely chilled, it has that mood in it :)

NEway, I think the track is fine, I guess it's just not too much my style, which is why I feel it is a bit too long... Might also wanna cut the gain on that brushy hi hat. That's about it though, good work!
Jay M
BassAngel tnx a million for the worthy comments it's great I can count on your feedback!

John bedankt cool dat je hebt geluisterd (=tnx for listening) and oDrori tnx anyway I heard that someone's planning to remix this into a real chill track! I hope it works out :D

Bout the hihat. I like the brushy stuff but it might still be too sharp I'll listen to the effect of lowering the gain of it.

Keep m coming I really love it to read the reviews, tnx!

:p
Gareth Sullivan
excellent tune, well done.

it is definately a grower but it does need a theme, a real hook to get people wanting to hear more and more of it.

Let us know if you sort it out, would be really interested in releasing it in the UK

Good Luck

Great chill-progressive, perfect to buildup a set.
I'll see it very well released on Electronic Elements by Perry O'Neill.
;)

broken silence
very nice- enjoyed every bit of it.

you do though have some low end issues you have to work out in it. Every other kick sounds very muffled (the kick with the clap) which means usually that you compressed the mix too much.

Your bass has the low end quality but it raises up too much when the kick exits (compression problem)

Your bass has low end but lacks some mid end.

Kick needs more volume and individual compression on its track, not on the whole mix.

Otherwise sounds really good m8- deffo a keeper
EternalMusic
Juicy, juicy :tongue2
I actualy like the kick as it it. The bass is a badass, realy liking it. There are some empty places, but they can be easly fixed.
Well done :D.
