I wanted to know the difference between the Superwave Trance-Pro and Professional, so I did a little test. According to the website:

Following the success of the Superwave P8, the Professional embodies greater efficiency, together with more features and sounds. An additional 128 presets featuring Leads, Strings, Pads, Basses, and FX. And a noticeably warmer sound that the penetrating edge of the Trance-Pro.

So the Professional is warmer than the Trance-Pro? I don't think so. In fact, these two VSTi's are exactly the same in terms of audio output!! I can say this because I exported two tracks using the same exact patch on both instruments and compared the resulting wav file in Adobe Audition. They were EXACTLY the same! I believe this warmer sound is referring to the patches themselves.

In terms of performance, I can't tell the difference at all.

So here are the facts: The Trance-Pro and Professional are basically the same. The only differences are the presets and the GUI's colours.
Trance-pro patches are for exclusive trance while the Professional patches have more of a varied collection of sounds. You can also use Trance-Pro banks on the Professional and vice versa.

How do the Trance-Pro and Professional compare to other synths? They are a lot better than reFX's Vanguard, but don't come close to matching to pure sonic quality of the real JP-80X0. It would also be nice to have the Trance-Pro and Professional able to import patches from the JP-80X0 since they're supposed to be a close clone of it anyway!

Cheers!
