Should most american radio station play music like:

Mauro Picotto, Armin Van Buuren, Dj Hyper, Andy C, Tiesto domestic just like Europien radio stations does on every weekend , and start promoting and broadcast big parties like Gatecrasher USA, Ultra and stuff like that?

Would it help for dance music to grown and be popular in America?

They should, but they won't. Radio stations would prefer to stick to their proven mainstream cheese and maintain ratings than to play music that doesn't seem to have the same fan base luxury.

I am actually from Buffalo and just recently some of the radio stations have made dance/trance portions of their broadcast. Its kind of crazy, we have this station called the edge. Its actually a hard/alternative rock station. On saturday nights they broadcast this thing called Edgetasy. Its a pretty nice compilation every week thats broadcasted live from one of the towns more popular club. A few other stations have followed their lead.

No they shouldn't because they will go broke.....(if you are talking about popular, top-40 type stations)

I think specialty dance music radio stations are the way to go (eg Party 93.1) They play lots of great music, including sets from big-name DJs. Of course, they need to be in areas where there is a large enough audience for them to be viable.

Not only American but Canadian Radio Stations should play it too.

It's like we can't turn on the radio anymore...the music is just so commercialized and it doesn't appreciate the DJ's and thier art.

Maybe if there was more positive exposure of our music, then there would be more open minds and less violence with guns :D

But who am I kiddin...those money grubby music agents and promoters don't like us when we sample thier artists..it cutz into thier pockets. If that doesn't change, it's never going to work. Damm the capitalixts.

Let say one day the media changes its mind and start playing non cheesy dance music , music what you love and enjoy and its become really popular, hearing people drive on the street blasting paul van dyk, sasha, digweed etc etc, would it change your feeling about dance music, would you still love your music?

I know its a stupid question lol, my thing is i would still love my music, and it would be awsome if i would meet many people who i could talk about our music, or could just go to big parties with bounch of my friends to see Sasha

I'd kill to hear Andy C on radio in North America. He is the biggest crowd draw in Toronto (cept Oakenfold). Any gig he plays is full.

The majority of DJs you hear on the radio now are just muppets, they don't even choose the playlist (if they're owned by a big company like Clear Channel).

I wish most of the radio stations would go back to the way they were when there was more artistic freedom involved. Until then, I don't even care to listen to the radio.
