How about you watch your f***** mouth...?
Yes we are religious. Nothing wrong with that and for your information we are also very touchy about being called Polaks.
That's all I have to say!!
|
Whoha...hold your horses...that's the first time I ever hear this and I have quite a few Polish friends...
In any case didn't mean to piss anyone off but that kind of reaction is totally uncalled for... :whip: There are nicer ways to express your opinion specifically when i said i didnt mean to offend anyone... |

starsearcher; you didn't mean anything bad about it, but generally (not always), "polaks" can be taken as sort of a "demeaning" term. Not everyone sees it as that, but when someone of a different race/nationality refers to a Pole as a "Polak" can be insult.
It's sort of like calling a black person a ******. They call eachother that all the time, just as we call eachother Polaks, but when someone else does it, it can be looked at in a different way. Heck, when someone non-Polish calls me a Polak (whom I don't know) I get a little insulted, to be honest. |

Thanks for clearing that out Pete.
Starsearcher: not enough you're generalizing, you're also stereotyping, and funny story...I heard you Jews are pretty religious too..you get the point?
I'm an easy going guy and I don't want to start s**** but when it comes to stuff like this I get really easily offended.
I'm gonna say it as nicely as I can. Please refrain from using these types of comments in the future.
I hope we can all chill now. I'll go listen to some Lawler and you go listen to some Testo(not sure bout the spelling) :D |

If I were with my parents I would probably go to Church at least once (my parents aren't much of Church people). But they are far away so I will have to pass. I may go on Friday to the Italian Church down the street. To pay respect and all :) :).
Yes, I also don't like being called a Polak because english people pronounce it so wrong that it sounds really bad and demeaning. If a Polish person says it they say it with a proper accent and it sounds nice. |
