I'm offered a job from Dublin Ireland, but don't know how much the overall cost of living is there.
Like are the rents sky high etc.
I hope that there is at least someone who can answer me. |

Basically: Cost of living is the highest in Europe.
Rent: Expect to pay at VERY MINIMUM e100 a week for a ty apartment.
Food etc is more expensive than anywhere else.
Dublin is also a hole. |

Yep thats pretty much correct.
I suppose if you've got a quality job lined up with some serious cash involved you'll be grand.
p.s. Dont live on the northside, its a hole. |

From my ten months in Cork I'd say living is about the same as in Sweden. Food maybe a bit lower prises in Cork. But then you get what you pay for... But the rain and the wind is for free.
I'd guess its the normal rule: bigger city - higher rents. And dublin has about 1/2 milion. (correct me if im wrong there plz). Just remember that the awnser of the question "how are you" is "I'm grant", meaning i'm fine. And that there is no way you can tell if they are speaking about the high growing things that make forests or the number after two...
But the people is LOVELY! the only time someone was rude to me was after two weeks when i tried to pay the bus with a 20 punt and the driver had to give me change in onepunt coins. :stongue: |

Yeah that's nothing really.
Austin is like 500-600$ a month for a ty apartment.
I can't imagine what the rent in San Fran or NYC is like. |

i paid $900 for my share of a 3 bedroom with holes in the floor and mice in new york (it's $1250 for a decent studio). i pay $1600 for a one bedroom outside of san francisco. on the bright side, when i move i probably wont be shocked by rent anywhere i look... |
