I think almost everyone is going to say that they'd listen to it anyway. But that doesn't answer the real question, which is how important is its relative obscurity to the reasons why they listen to it NOW?
I think the poll should be how many of us *would like* for EDM to become mainstream (in a personal sense, forgetting about effects on industry and stuff) - we'd see more of a divergence on that. |

I would NEVER listen to Trance if it went mainstream. The only reason I listen to it now is because its underground and it's cool to listen to it. As soon as it becomes uncool I'll switch to Jungle ! |
lol.. at this point Durafei = 3.70% :toothless
hey Yiddish beats aren't mainstream here .. ;)

| I would but I doubt I'd enjoy it as much. Plus if it goes mainstream think about how packed it's gonna be in the clubs. I wouldn't even bother going to guv anymore. |

easily. i would love to turn on the radio to listen to it. like someone said, england has plenty of edm radio shows. my friends in amsterdam listen to trance as part of mainstream radio. edm is a part of mainstream culture in europe. edm tracks are a part of the weekly top 40.
too bad there is no real outlet in canada. i would love it if muchmusic played the latest videos from the latest tracks. even though the videos are cheesy most of the time, but it would get the music out there.
i just wish people would get off their high horse when their music gets popularized. |

| Only cheese from any genre is what becomes mainstream... if electronica were to become mainstream it would be the cheese of it that would. Undoubtedly rap and hip hop are the two mainstream genres out there right now, but when you turn on the radio you only hear like Usher being played, and not stuff from Big L or A Tribe Called Quest (who are comparable to artists like "Dumonde" and even "John Digweed" in their own genre). |
