| trance??? what trance?? there hardly is a trance scene in Ottawa. they go after the house seen more. There are a few clubs that are alright and Max Graham still has his residency at atomic. definitely you should check that out. they get some good dj's sometimes. But montreal is really close and T.O. is not that far away. |

| Yeah, I agree with the princess, Mah Graham still comes to Atomix lotsa. Last I saw him was on Canada Day. Atomix would be the only choice, but they do play too much fackin house! That's all it is with ottawa, house everywhere! It's fackin impossible to come on a nite when they play trance. Montreal, would be yer best bet. |

This is the lowdown on the Ottawa scene.
The major club is Atomic. When they bring in someone from out of town it's pretty solid. Out of town DJs tend to represent a wide spectrum of styles from trance to jungle to house to progressive. Graham passes by once in a while, this is where he got started. For major Euro DJs, you will have to catch them in Montreal which is about 100 minutes away. Out of towners that have come to atomic are the likes of sister bliss, sandra collins, david morales, deep dish and josh wink to name a few.
There are 2 floors to atomic with seperate DJs. Downstairs is always house music. Upstairs features Atomic resident Brad Copeland. He usually varies between trance and progressive styles.
Warning : don't go on friday nights, it's hip hop night
The friday night club is Velvet at Icon. They carry a Montreal house taste by bringing in alot of montreal residents like lafleche, raymond mark anthony and DJ Maus who swings by quite often. The residents spin mostly housee. Some out of town names they bring in are Breeder, Mark Scaife and Peter Rauhofer. Never anyone major.
There are some smaller clubs like the Well and the Mercury lounge that have their own distinct eclectic styles.
Hope this helps |

Yo Czaoth(what's up with the name, anything to do with Czech?), anyways, ummm..you know the club/bar MTL?? In ottawa, have you ever been there, it's in/near the byward market, it looks like a really cool place to chill, I think the first floor is a bar sort of place, and the 2nd is a dance room?? And, what is this velvet@Icon place you speark of, I wanna check it out? Where is it??
ps: i made my first mistake going to the "factory", a while back, it's the worst club ever, it's like a HOOCHIE hang out, and some drunk 17 year old guys, listening to back street boys, and britney spears...gaay, errr...GEIGH! |

If your looking for a trance scene in Ottawa, Illusion night club is the place you want to go. However, the crowd is a bit sketchy...young teens, strippers, bikers...the whole 9 yards.
Just my 2 cents...:stongue: |

Illusions was owned/operated by the Hells Angels. The cops where all over it and it was shutdown over 4 months ago so that is no longer an option..
TSI-AWD : my name i just invented, it may not even be a real word hehe
it does make people think i'm from russia or some eastern european country but i'm born and breed in Ottawa. Never heard of the bar MTL.
Velvet@Icon is downtown near Bank and Gladstone. The bar is called Icon and some guys were brought in to take over the friday nights to bring in a larger crowd and named it Velvet. Not sure about the exact address but you can get that out of the phone book. |

| Err, dude, Illusions is reopened, I went there about a month ago. And it Looks really good, nice chillout area, a whole bunch of leather couches, mirrors that totally trip you out, smoke, wicked lights! AMAZING SOUND System, and it's got two rooms that totally play different musak..and are seperate(u can't hear the other in the room).. But there are too many kids I noticed. And, I'm not comin back, unless they play good musik, last time I went, it was all DRUM AND BASS! I hated it, it was raelly bad, and worst of all, the place was about empty. |
