Ok, I need a soundcard, since I've been producing on my motherboard's internal sound. Yeah, I know, that's pretty sad.
Anyway, I need a soundcard, and preferably as cheap as possible. I don't need thatgreat quality, just something that works.
I also only use softsynths, so I don't need inputs. I don't use a midi keyboard (I just type everything in), so no midi port needed either.
Is there a soundcard for me? Or, since I don't need any fancy audio-related stuff, should I just go for something standard like a Creative card. Remember, I need something cheap, and I'm not an audiophile, I just need better than internal sound. |

i tend not to like buying cheap stuff as I end up spending more sooner or later to replace it. But, if you really want something cheap that 'may' do the trick, get a decentish gaming sound card, and download the ASIO4All drivers. I use a VideoLogic SonicFury and I hated it until I got the drivers, now I feel for the forseeable future I just saved myself £150! |

get the M-Audio Audiophile 2496. it's only $150(US), has 2 rca i/o, digital i/o, and midi i/o just in case you might add any kind of hardware in the future. it also has 24-bit 96kHz conversion/recording. pretty much everything you'll ever need for a very affordable price. |

Grab an audiophile second-hand on Ebay for $100. |
