Edgar Allen Poe, T.S. Eliot, and J.R.R. Tolkien have all been attributed with citing Cellar Door as the most beautiful arrangement of words in the English language...however, about 60 years ago famed writers were surveyed on what they thought the most beautiful English words were. And so, one H.L Mencken said it was a Chinese student who dubbed the phrase the most musical combination of sounds he had heard in the English language.
