Don't you people go to school, don't you have final exams to study for determining your future careers and money making abilities. How did you have the time and brain cells to spare for Armin? It's completey unfair that i not only have to study day and nite, but that i've recieved thousands of phone calls from people trying to tell me how good the party was. Screw all you people that had fun, cheers to all of you who couldn't make it cuase you were caged in the library or sick with strep of something. Listening to a state of trance with my earphones in the library beside a goofy nerd with braces just doesn't cut it for me any more.
love

hah. Maybe some people manage to schedule thier important study time around these events? :D
I'm on a co-op work term, so i've been free to party without worries the last 3-4 months. It all ends in the beginning of May though  |

A)Be responsible with home work and projects. Finish them way a head a time before an event like this.
B)Go sober and make sure you party it hard still
C)Sleep for 24 hrs straight and recover fully
D)Go back to studying for exams
Decadence was a on Thursday ... nuff time to recover and study for exams coming up this week. |

That is absoloutely true. You must have fun Fun in Life and not just study all the time. Just do it wisely. This was a long weekend. They are meant to be "used". |

Ah, this would be so easy if it were actually possible. Sadly, some of us work/study for 18 hours a day and just get further behind. If I had 2 extra weeks to study for exams it still wouldn't be enough.
It's alright though. I'm not complaining, personally. |

i'd have to agree with john and you aaron, its hard juggeling a 40 hr work week, fulltime school, a relationship, and friendships along with your family and a fulltime hobby like a website.. somethings going to suffer, unfortunatly for me sleep generally has to go out the window. However, after being in this situation for over 2 months now, i've grown accustomed to it.. I feed off of being so busy. I feel weird now if i'm not busy, and my body naturally just wakes up after 4-5 hours of sleep.
you get use to it, life goes on, you can party, and do well in school, and work .. its not hard if you have the drive. (p.s i dont have the drive, getting better though =]) |

There's no need to be bitter if you couldn't make it to Decadence or some other party. I am a student also and I have to deal with the whole balancing act too.
My week typically consists of 24+ hours of school, 10+ hours of work and AT LEAST 20+ hours of homework (Damn Engineering!). I was fortunate enough to be able to go out for Decadence however I had to work ahead on a lot of my assignments to compensate for the time lost because of partying and recovering!
I did the same for PvD and Deep Dish in October... If I remember correctly, it was a Sunday night and a holiday Monday. However, I had 4 mid terms from Tuesday to Thursday and yet I still stayed until Deep Dish threw down their last record at like 8:45am!:D
But the entire week before this party, I studied like a madman and made sure to finish all my assignments. As you can see by my schedule, it's not the easiest thing to do but if you manage your time, you'll be able to do the things you want. :) |

Hey, I'm not trying to start a war of words or anything so please bear with me Paco.
Look, there's no shame in having to get your work done or whatever, you have your head on straight. Yes, you may have missed this event but in the long run, I'm sure you've done yourself a favour in terms of staying in and getting your work done.
I've had to miss some pretty bangin' parties too and it's a sacrifice that has to be made sometimes.
Just one thing, if you're looking for sympathy, don't start a thread off with "screw all of you decadencers". And don't criticize other people's posts if they have their own methods of balancing partying and studying.
In any case, best of luck with Med School and your studies... |
