Man, i figured what are the CHANCES that someone else would see this and post it on TA... i guess very good eh? lol...

And Blik, what drugs are you ON!??? I thought you had good taste but i guess i'm mistaken? ...and FASTER than the VW? LoL! that is a supercharged VR6 GTI with 80-shot NOS and Quaife diff..... over 330 HP in the GTI, runs 12.9's (faster than a F360 Modena Ferrari)...... (hes a guy on our VW bulletin boards).... you really think that POS honda would take it? LoL....

Fraggle, where did you find this? (I'm curious as to how you found it before i did and i'm on the same Bulletin Boards as the owner!)

well first of all that civic they listed is a friggen dx with little or no engine mods to it. the other car had NOS and whatever done to it. obviously it was done for a joke. we all had our laughs but to diss honda as a nice looking or maybe to some of you bad looking slow cars is somewhat overboard, almost ignorant about their cars and their potential.

i've read in a recent article from sport compact car and this is what it had.

Dude, you need to chill out.... you take everything as a personal attack.....

First off, as i've seen you post before, you don't even HAVE that car (civic/acura), you just like them..... (which is ok)

Second, ANY CAR IN THE WORLD can be fast if you slap a huge turbo on a non-factory motor and run 30 psi of boost... jesus, thats overkill...

The point here is not so much with speed but taste.... You can't generalize taste by car owners, so i'm not going to say "all honda owners...blah blah blah..." but down here in my neck of the woods (and ask ANY south floridan on here and they will agree), that 99% of hondas on the road down here are friggin jokes... they have that STUPID ass big wing, the lights on the hood, HUGE garbage-can exhausts, and they are lucky if they break into the 16's in the quarter mile.....

And as far as the whole honda-thing.... i know you don't like me b/c i rag on them... but in case you're ever curious as to why i rag on them...... its b/c i USED TO OWN one..... i know how they are. i had a '95 EX civic coupe ... I had an Integra LS head with GSR intake manifold, and with all mods made 170 HP at the WHEELS.... but it sounded like crap, and was a PIECE OF SH!T.... This of course was when i was younger... (when you are younger, i noticed the whole "honda" thing appeals to you more...) Hondas are great for what they are meant for - daily economical transportation.... NOT race cars!

Then i grew up and decided i needed a real car... a nice semi-luxury car that was quick.... so i got my VW. (actually on my 2nd VW - 1st was a 1996 GTI VR6).... You want to talk numbers? My '96 GTI VR6 ran consistent 13.91 @ 114 MPH at the track, and that car was ALL motor, no turbo, supercharger, no nitrous, on STREET tires... all motor... and this was my daily driven car. You will never find an all-motor Honda that will run that, especially with a stock motor or on street tires... and my last car only cost me $18,000 BRAND NEW... as much as a civic SI! lol... I traded this car in a year ago for my 2000 which you see pictured...

Anyways, My new, 2000 GTi has heated leather seats, 6 airbags! (driver, pass., 2 side, and 2 curtain), one-touch windows, climate-controlled A/C system (the kind like in your house where you just put it to what temperature you want, and it automatically goes there.... like the Mercedes & BMW have), my car also has rain-sensing windshield wipers, an 8-speaker 380-watt Monsoon sound system (stock, mind you), and a VR6 engine.... and it cost me $22,000..... about 1 THOUSAND dollars less than a new Acura RSX Type-S, which has less equipment and options... Yhis car is no speed demon, but its very nice and faster than anything i'd ever need to get away from down here...

Note of interest: I ran a RSX Type-S at the track last week, and i have 18" wheels on my otherwise stock car.... and i beat him in the quarter by .7 seconds..... This is one of my points, Turbo GS-R! This car costs $23,500, has "200 HP", but is slower than a much heavier, cheaper car, that IMO is MUCH nicer...

And as far as respecting Honda Power, i have a lot of respect for it, when i see it... there are very few hardcore Honda tuners down here that actually MAKE them fast as opposed to making them LOOK fast... one of my friends works for Pacific Performance down here, which if you recall have the fastest Nissan 200SX in the world... they also have some VERY quick Hondas and Acuras.... but these are not streetable cars...

I have respect for fast, QUIET performance that is every-day streetable....

That silver GTI from this link is a daily-driven street car, Turbo-GSR!! I am sure the honda you mentioned is a trailer queen!

But anyways, don't worry about my comments, they are not directed at you, ok?

dude you need to take it easy as well. i'm not taking any of this as a personal attack. did i say i was offended by your comments? i'm not attacking your euro cars either. i don't get all worked up hearing disses about honda's. its all about personal tastes and opinions. that i won't argue.

first off, i don't know where you've read that i said i don't have the car. as far as i remember i don't think i've ever mentioned about it here on tranceaddict, but i might have forgotten. even if i did, the info is outdated by now. in any case, yes i didn't have it when i made the username. it was something i wanted at the time.

i just expressed what i felt and know. if you wanna embarrass me go do it another way and for your information i DO have a GS-R. not turbo yet, cuz i don't have the money right now, but i DO have the car, so there.

seriously i don't care about the numbers and who goes faster. its all about how much money you've spent and how much work is done to a car anyway regardless of make or model. any car can beat any car given the right modifications.

i just listed that integra in there so people know that some honda's are actually fast. you don't think i don't know about the 'wannabe' racers in their civics? i just think of them as the people who listen to darude and calls them a trance god but there are people who tune up their honda's very well and they are the ones who listen to ferry corsten and avb. i hope you didn't get lost in my metaphor there.

mind you that their displacement is slightly smaller than most cars in their own class. well not always, but hey pumping 160HP out of a 1.6 liter from the SiR or getting 120HP for each liter (2.0 liter from the S2000) is pretty impressive.

about the RSX comparison. your GTI is a freaking 6 cyclinder 2792 cc engine. the RSX uses a much smaller displacement 4 cyclinder 2.0 liter motor that pumps 200HP, 100HP each liter. try getting that much from a VW motor.

anyway, the low end power harsh kills the RSX. its no wonder you beat it by 0.7 seconds. that . honda's are always about high end power and thats why their redline is way higher cuz thats where the most HP gains are coming from. its not a fair comparison. btw i know the pricing for japanese cars are ty. its always been like that.

also that integra i talked about IS street legal and the owner does drive it on the road. also this car is as bone stock and as plain as it can look. i would say this IS your so called quiet race car.

look dude you can hate all the honda's for all i care. its none of my business. again i'm just expressing what i feel and that i think sometimes we give honda less credit than they deserve. its the driver's in your area that give it a bad name but that doesn't mean the drivers here in my area are about the same things. alright?

well allright, we're in agreement then. Remember i said i have no problem with hondas in what they are meant for... economical transportation. But once i see one with a huge wing or big exhaust - its ALL over.... Yes, some hondas can be fast, but there is still no need for tasteless modifications, or the ridiculously loud noise they make from exhausts...

And you are right, it is the idiot owners in my area that make me dislike them, and yes, i did generalize that ALL hondas are pieces of sh!t, because they are! Dude, i've owned one, and used to hang out with a whole group of friends in a civic car club for crying out loud - i know all the tricks, typical problems, and what it looks like if you pull your center console out..... but in honesty, the build quality of them is not even CLOSE to what the public views them as... i guess that is where my problem with honda is. The mis-labeling and public misconceptions.

And i don't know where you think i am "embarassing" you???? None of my posts had anything to do with you, and my last post had no hostility or humility pointed at you. Apologies if you misconstrued my saying that you don't even own the car....was not an insult, just a point. And yes, at one point you did say something about that, although it was indeed a very long time ago....

And about the 12 second car you posted, i said nothing about being street-legal, i said Street-able! big difference... streetable meaning you can drive it all day long every day to and from work, even in traffic, being able to go to 7-11 without letting the engine warm up and down for 5 minutes every time you turn your car on and off, etc.... passes emissions is street-legal... That car is a nice car, but no 30 psi boost car is a daily driver, sorry :confused: Also its not bone stock - i am sure he has uprated the cylinders and valves, exhaust and such to deal with the turbo - no car with a T3/T4 and 30 psi is going to be running stock internals - and if they are it won't get down the track without blowing the motor...

I agree with your statement about making a lot of power from the smaller displacement motors.... but its not hard to figure out why. The motors have no torque. If you look at the motor like a scale, then you would see that torque is in one side and horsepower the other... if you always notice, german cars ALWAYS have more torque than horsepower, and thats what gets your car moving off a line (the initial thrust your hand exerts when you twist a screwdriver)... American cars usually break even, while Japanese cars ALWAYS have wayyyyy more horsepower than Torque.... in my eyes its kinda cheating, b/c the stupid american public only reads HP figures... so they are mislead... thinking the car is faster than it really is. Sh!t listen to me ramble.....

PS - just be sure that you don't go overboard with mods in your car man! keep the wing small, exhaust close to stock size, and no asian-stickers (or lights on the hood!).... peace

don't worry i'm not a wanker. i don't do cars like that. i hate supid stickers that are placed at wrong places and well anything thats ridiculously put together but with taste a honda can be fast and good looking all together.

btw you might have to re-read that long post of mine. i did make some changes. i made some comments about the VR6 vs RSX thing but its basically the same idea.

also you misunderstood. i meant the car LOOKS (meaning exterior) bone stock. from what i've read EVERYTHING in the motor of that integra is aftermarket.

about the tourque, yeah it is shifted kinda in the HP favor but thats the way their cars are designed. for smaller engines (hence lighter weight) and high end gains.

btw what the is lights on the hood? i have never seen those before LOL so i don't think it would be on my hood any time soon i don't think :D

anyway you are right. this is tranceaddict and not caraddict.
