That's some funny stuff! Especially the tourism part. "Come experience the reality of North Korea for yourself!"
The reality of undrinkable water! poor electricity! starving adults and children! |

actually i saw a short documentary on north korea's tourism industry on Foreign Correspondent
There are epic statues of his holiness everywhere, the military presentations look amazing, etc
the team were welcome to film anywhere around this city but outside the city they needed a chaperon, and were not allowed to take the camera
fortunately they smuggled a small camera out, so we got to see lots of dirt and millions of starving people eating grass |

| I don't understand how you people seem to be very aware of what the situation is in Korea without ever been there? If we all believe what we see and hear on the news and all around the internet, then we should all think that Sadam bombed the WTC, that Iraqies are evil people and that all of Europe hates us. Try not to condemn North Korea and be more openminded! Hatred on our part will only create more hatred on their part and in responce what are they forced to do, create nuclear weapons. |

Is that to say that what we believe we know, and what our intelligence and humanitarian agencies believes they know for facts about N. Korea, are actually untrue?
Boy, I guess I must be really duped about those starving millions of children then.
Do you have evidence to show otherwise? I think your analogy between Iraq and N. Korea is false because it was known that we had conflicting intelligence on things like WMD - Bush/Wolfowitz/Rummy/Cheney just decided not to weigh it very heavily (actually, I submit they blatantly ignored it). I don't believe that's even remotely the case for N. Korea's starvation and suppression, but if you have evidence to counter that, by all means present it. |

Are you for real, forget about the Nuclear Weapons or propoganda. Kim Jong-Il has prison camps in which some North Koreans are kept when deemed so by the leaders, this according to people who have gotten out of North Korea. The place is a social blight. I have seen documentaries covering North Korea and even with the North Korean minders watching everything that is recorded and said the place still looks sad to exist in. I don't think anyone hates North Korea, what is hated is the leadership headed by Kim Jong-Il who truly believes that North Korea is a paradise. "Our hatred forces them to creat nukes" Maybe we should wonder why a failed state needs nukes when it can't even feed its people but rely on international aid, including from the Evil U.S.A. Go figure. |

What if I tell you that you have a burglar in your back yard, are you going to believe me or are you going to check for yourself and then decide whether I was right or not. If you have been to North Korea and have seen all the so called bad people then it's OK for you to condemn them, but since you havn't, don't trust everything you are told and don't fuel the hate war. Because it is a hate war, we are tought to hate. Hate europeans, hate canadians, hate mexicans, hate terrorists, hate everyone who does not agree with us. And the world sees that and becomes more and more scared and eventually it is forced to find a way to deffend itself, ie N. Korea's nuclear weapons program. That's what I was trying to say in my previous post. |

What if I told you there is ice on Europa, but since you haven't jumped on a spacecraft yourself and been there, would you believe me regardless? Or better yet, would you believe the cosmologists who know this to be true?
You're making a logical fallacy here depicting that since I haven't been there, I know nothing about it. However, there are confirmed reports and known facts about the starvation throughout that entire country, and those facts are widely accepted worldwide. Even N. Korea's few allies admit as much.
You're really preaching to the choir when you are discussing propaganda and fact-checking. I'm quite an advocate myself. However, the evidence is not circumstantial when it comes to population starvation and suppression - these are known facts.
In order to dispute such facts, you must show the courtesy of presenting conflicting evidence. As of yet, you have failed to do so. IOW, give me a reason to believe you - show me some contrary evidence, and I'll consider your side of the story. |
