Hi all.

I've been trying to strengthen my sounds through experimentation in Reason.

The result so far were these two tunes, both melodic progressive trance:

Trevor Kay - Introvert (128kbs)

Trevor Kay - Extrovert (128kbs)

Enjoy! and thank you for any feedback, criticisms and suggestions.

Hey Man,

Nice to hear these completed. I really love the uniqueness of your productions.

The melody in Extrovert is real beauty and makes for some amazing trippy stuff.

Still sounds a bit computery, not sure what is needed to fix those, but the arrangement and production of boths songs is a breath of fresh air compared to a lot of the cookie cutter stuff out there now.

Great work.

I'm plagued by the computery sounds... it might be time to move away from Reason, or combine with some other production methods.

Thanks again for the review!

I'd love to hear from anyone else if you have the time.

Thanks again.

Hey, these are two nice tracks, very clean sound. this will be reason that gives it that 'computer sound' i always find that you can tell the sound of reason when you haer a track that is mainly done in reason, it has a clean sound!:) but i like that fact!

Overall production, sounds and mix/Master was cool:D

Extrovert was my fave of these two, def something i would put on after a night out,

Good job mate!

Yo sooper, havent seen you around for ages now !

Well first of all, your production skills are improveing man, keep this up!

Extrovert is a very nice listen, some DoruMALAIA Fx going off, with some nice melodys kinda early airwave stuff going off, especially his old prog projects, forgot that one that comes to mind, maybe meridian, dolphins. A nice sound you got going off though. I would like to see that sine wave melody play a solo melody as its a great sound, perhaps flying up and down the keyboard mozart style. The bongos, assuming you have used a one shot, also try a section playing them in a new groove with the bongo playing in some chords and differant ryhthms. The main melody could maybee be backed up with another lead behind it to make it little fatter, with some scream 4 power. You should also grease the open hats up with some scream 4 mate, get them thicker and more dominant.

You still using reason dude ? Maybee also try some cubase out and get some rewire action in process, this will really help your sound man :)

Peace out dude and keep it up !

I only downloaded Introvert, but I'm enjoying it. To me, it's a little too much on the trancey side, at points I thought it would turn into a dirty progressive breaks tracks, but then the 4/4 drum came back and there were the breakdowns into near-silence... So it's a good track, but not quite what I was hoping for, which is obviously not your fault. I agree with some of the other posters that you're on the verge of some really good stuff (massive improvement from your previous production that I downloaded); I'm not sure if moving away from Reason is the solution or not, since I'm not a producer. Cheers!

Burns! How ya doin my friend? I tried to hear a recent production of yours but the link didn't work. Anyway, I got busted using MSN at work, and was forced to delete it from my comp! I rarely use it at home, but we've got some catching up to do, so hopefully we'll get to chat soon.

Your feedback and tips are greatly appreciated as always. I try take your advice and incorporate it into my next song, so thanks again. I'm still using only Reason. When I've saved some money, I'll be buying a new computer and perhaps Cubase and try take my sounds to the next level. I have to remember to take advantage of the scream a lil more! ... and more variations with my percussion.

Hope all is well Burns!
