I'm a regular at Partypoker/Empire and at Paradise. I'm what you would consider a semi-pro poker player, meaning I'm there a LOT (usually before I go to bed). umm.. let's put it this way, I make way more money in holdem poker than I do in my 'real job' since I began going semipro (not joking)
Say hello to me when you see me at Party/Empire, my nick there is ezmax. I play limits ranging from 3-6 to 15/30. At paradise you will see me at 20/40 a lot but I usually don't play there much now except for tournaments, most of the time now I'm at Party.
This month has been horrible for me, I was up about 12K this month but then I ran into 2 days of really bad streaks where I couldn't hit anything for a few solid hours and got drawn out large and posted losses (not consecutively) of -2686 and -2442. Still a very good month for me since when I added up the totals for the month about 8K net but it was really deflating to see that I worked so hard to build the bankroll up for the month and to lose about 5K of it in 2 days where a combination of not hitting anything for hours and tilting a bit from my normal selective aggressive play.
I'm going to stick to the lower limits for a bit (ie 3/6 and 5/10) because it's easier to absorb the bankroll fluctuations, even though my bankroll can manage it :toothless .
I used to hit the underground poker clubs quite a bit where I practially won everyday and used the money to pay for my tuition, but now you'll see me online quite often. Cheers. :) |

i figure Hold'em would be the best option since it's about the most standard/basic form of poker.

private table, no-limit.
every player would start off with 1,000 in play money and the last one standing is the winner.

would it be limit or no limit?
trancewave when you play are you playing limit or no limit for your online games?
When i play with my friends, i love being big stack because they are a bunch of super conservative (boring) poker players. It's fun slapping them around with the chips because you can make them fold so easily. |

I play multiple tables of limit holdem (ie, two tables at once at 20/40) The only time I play no limit is when I'm in the tournaments.
If you do decide to play online, I strongly suggest partypoker or empirepoker. Because of the World Poker Tour on travel channel, there's been a large influx of new players most of whom don't have a clue how to play. At UltimateBet and Paradise, the players are a lot tougher because they're all regulars. |
