Where is the techno crew hiding?

ok peeps, there's not really much going on in the way of big events these days..
but this forum needs a wee bit more techno discussion.
I'll start.
A couple weeks ago I went to hear Stacey Pullen, who plays some serious detroit infused with a lot of house and funk. I heard him play a quick set at 2thebeat and dragged a co-worker out...wow! incredible. Closed the place, and then some!
Coming up is Laurent Garnier at system, but that falls on the same weekend as Mark Falco at Boa and the Dalai lama visit.
I'm working on some new mixes....highroller has given preliminary approval to my hard techno mix which I did on the weekend. :)
What have you kids been up to for techno? |

Skipper im gona record a mix soon, my laptop has a really ty soundcard so im saving up for a portable soundscard...
im so pissed i missed Stacy Pullen, but i had to check out sanchez.. i was gona hit up 2thebeat but i got to toronto so late i doubt he was still playing at the time..
i hope i see u @ system for laurent garnier! |

I Know Ive been on a Hiatus
I also think alot of others have been on a break due to school and other

heheh why :P Ben Sims ing rocks, everything i listen from him makes me instantly dance... I still regret missing him when he passed by exactly two years ago:( :( |

Can I join? :)
Was at Tresor in Berlin two weeks ago and saw Monika Kruse who played more of a minimal set, which was nice, and then I went down in the downstairs area called Globus, a rather dingy, dark and smokefilled basement with nothing but strobes to light it up. Here local german talent was already belting out granite techno at 140 BPM, which was also nice :D Plus they played Green Velvet - Flash (Timo Maas Dub), which was even nicer :D
Too bad I missed Kevin Saunderson and Jerome live back home :( Kevin played almost nothing but house though, so I'm not that bothered. |

all true techno heads know what tresor is :D, unfortunately i didnt haev the chance to go there last summer.. i still kick my ass every time i think about it! |

As for stacey being considered techno - yes, he is, I think. Techno encompasses a lot of different sounds and can be incorporated with a lot of different genres.
As for tresor I AM GOING THERE on the last weekend of September. I'm also going to be hitting up a big annual party called Kombination in Berlin that weekend...
As for Ben Sims, I wish. :(
PS - nice work Boa. I was worried Boa would be all prog and house...keep proving me wrong! :) |
