Word to the wise... Think before you accuse and if you accuse you better have the proof to back it up. Because libel is a serious offence in this country

oh please
give me one night at the guv, and Ill find evidence needed to back up claims of corruption.
I would love it if a libel lawsuit was brought against anybody...because then it would open up the underbelly of guv with its house dealers and roid monkey bouncers. |

Well damn I guess you do your drugs then go in? It's a business like any other, of course there's corruption.
I think it'd be better to focus on the positive aspects (international DJ's) as mentioned earlier by someone else, rather than never go because you brought some drugs into a club where you can expect to go down. |

I got busted at System once :rolleyes: with a friend...the bouncer didn't take our joints though..."meh, I don't care about any soft "...that was at least considerate, in some bizarre way, I guess :D
As for paying $50...that's ed. I'd tell him to go ahead and call the cops...I'd tell him that I could just say that I was in a stall, a bouncer burst in, and pulled the drugs from his pocket saying if I didn't pay him, he'd take me to the cops and tell them that he busted me instead, that he does it all the time. I bet that my $50 isn't worth it and he walks away :D
Front door at Guv seems ok in comparison to some of the s inside...I almost got knocked over by one of them...it seems that 5-6 of them were needed had to chase one guy out the side door :rolleyes:
having said that...I'd probably be an too if I had to deal with HALF the they must put up with there. |

I can only hazard a guess that the bouncers arrogance starts with the they have to put up with on Friday nights.... I would not want to work security for that place.

I really REALLY hate playing the devil's advocate but there are some things here to consider:
Yes the bouncers there are pricks and mow throught the crowd like they own the place.
But, weed and other drugs such as E that are popularly consumed are illegal (for now or until they do what they did last summer). You are on private property when you enter the club hence, yes, they can call the cops and charge u for posession. The bouncer has the legal right to call the cops and is also HIS DUTY to call the cops. HOWEVER, Bouncers should not even be asking for bribes to begin with and do their duty (tells us a lot about their work ethics and personality.) If you think the bouncer should be arrested for taking bribes (which he won't he'll just get fired and listed) and Broad's friend will be arrested and or told to appear in court.
Another thing I would never EVER do is bring drugs into a club no matter how well I would hide them. When u spark an owl/"drop" on the dancefloor or dark corner of a club you should know the risks involved in doing that there. One of the risks is getting caught and getting arrested. One should think about the risks involved and then act. I know it's cool to get high in clubs but one should also know and be prepared for the concequences when caught. The thing is what happened to Broad's friend is one of those situations where happens. The weirdest things can happen at the weirdest times.
I ain't saying doing drugs is wrong (cause it is every1's choice to do what they want in their life) but one should also be wise about it. Get high before going to the club or hell, even in the lineup if there is no bouncers there.
Altho Broad's friend could have had it a lot worse, he could have been arrested right there at the club and have a criminal record now but instead he/she finds him/herself ONLY 50 bucks lighter. Could have been worse.
But then again, who did not know Guv is corrupt??? Seen the Crowding/firecode loophole there? |

Unfortunately freedom of speech deems that even topics we don't agree with have a right to be posted.
If the intent of the poster was to defame then that's a different story - but I didn't read it that way...
Commenting on this thread, sure, some people are corrupt, and some of those people may end up working as bouncers, but what can u do? The person was caught with drugs, after that ethics generally go out the window. |
