I dont want to annoy everybody by bringing up yet another Sasha thread but I just had to ask about a few things first of all if you have a look at the booklet on the inside of the case you may notice it says "Cloud Cuckoo sample taken from 'Requiem' by King Crimson 1982 Written by Fripp, Bruford, Levin and Belew"....
wtf. does somebody want to make some sense out of this for me.... yeah, :wtf: thanks
the other thing is that it says:
All tracks Mixed and Engineered by Junkie XL
I think that's another "wtf" for me.
the third thing.... it also says "Recorded at the Computer Hell Cabin"
when I read that, I remembered that there is a song made by somebody called "Future in Computer Hell"
Is there some sort of link here?
(not a link between that and sasha's album, but what I mean is maybe the song was written about that place) ahhh who cares |

| Junkie XL did a lot of the engineering work. He has made a track called "Future in computer hell" and his studio is called the "computer hell cabin" |

Ohhh....well it can get pretty complicated. Just think of it as everything not related to the creative aspects of music. Even then engineering can be said to be creative....but definitely not on the level of composition. |

it means a sample from the song 'Requiem' by King Crimson was used in Cloud Cookoo. a sample is normally a loop such as maybe the beat, some percussion or the melody or can be any aspect of the song.
some part of that song was used in Cloud Cookoo

A sound engineer (junkie xl in this case) is the one who makes the mix of music sound good. this is the person usually involved in panning out the songs in stereo image, EQing the tracks so that they all fit well together, adding compression so the sounds are at the right sound level when they are supposed to be, making the sound levels of each track right. doing whatever it takes to make a song sound good while being played

Computer Hell Cabin is Junkie XL's recording studio in Amsterdam, I think?
Thats where almost all the songs on the album were produced, except for Bloodlock which was produced by James Holden and Sasha
Future in Computer Hell was a track made by Junkie XL a few years back, he probably named it that because he prolly likes the theme of computer hell. :)
Also, the album was more of a joint effort between Sasha, Charlie May and Junkie XL (he did more than just normal sound engineering work i think). Sasha aparently wrote the songs, and Charlie May did alot of the production work (this guy is a god :)).
Charlie May also coproduced Xpander and Belfunk |

| yes, it was Sasha who had the basic idea for all the songs and May and Tom helped him create it. |

| Charlie May is gold. It's unfortunate he doesn't get as much attention as I think is deserved. |
