Mauro Picotto - BEST IN WORLD!?!?!?!?

Upon hearing some of his personal tracks and listening to the liveset recorded at the Turntable Days Fest in Germany I am convinced that MP is the most skilled DJ in the world right now.

First of all his remix of Clocks is the best I have ever heard. Second of all he dips into every genre from trance to techno, house, and tribal, etc.
Third of all he plays all over the world and is even going to come to Minneapolis, MN (not exactly a culture area for that sort of thing).
Before hearing any of his stuff I was not even a fan of techno and he made me into one simply because he is an amazing producer and DJ.

Discuss! and make arguments for your opinion, don't just say "Pfft, No!"

Yeah, he was the one that got me into techno in the first place :) his producing skills is tremendous, And we shouldent even talk about his live performance :)

That my friend, is bull. There are tons of djs in his genre that are vastly more skilled technically than him. Luke Slater and Jeff Mills (when he can be arsed) off the top of my head.

he certainly isn't the most skilled dj in the world.

He is a good dj and plays from a very wide spectrum of music, his crowd interaction is great and imo he is the most original producer in the world..

I am the same as yourself, mauro got me into the techno scene, but once you realise what some other techno dj's can actually do with a set of decks and various other peices of equipment, i'm sure you would soon retract that statement.. however, Mauro is certainly one of the hardest working in terms of his tour schedule and he is probably the best at working a crowd

I think picotto is great and will always remain my favourite dj/producer even when he gives it up, but there are more skilled dj's by than him.:)

Picotto is still my favourite producer. His first album is an absolute classic, one of my most played CDs.

There are many many djs that are far more talented than Mauro Picotto. Chris Liebing, Carl Cox, Sven Väth and Dave Clarke just to name a few..

... and Umek :stongue:

yeh...mauro is the man. He also got me into techno as well...hes one of the few producers whos tracks were amazing years ago and his new ones are just as amazing even though there completley different.

BTG
komodo got me into this music. even though now when i listen to it, it sounds kinda stupid, but w/e, its old.

i'd like to see picotto at least once in my lifetime :/

Sven Vath isn't a technical dj either, but his track selections rock.
