| I like trance,so whenever I do something that doesn't require too much concentration like play ball,or play some playstation game or stuff like that I put some trance on,just as a background music, but the other people eho hang out with me, who go to clubs and everything always tell me to turn off the trance and put some silly rap and hip-hop on.So I ask them,if you go to parties how come you can't stand trance music in the house,I for example listen to trance both home and in clubs, but the people I hang out with, even if just sitting in some park with beers and stuff so they shout at me to turn off trance, because they cant stand it---they can listen to it only in clubs and parties, but not in their free time, they never put any trance.Only hip-hop and rap.I go out of my head to understand that fenomena |

First of all, its spelt phenomena
Now, the reason your friends don't appreciate trance is because they just plain don't like it. They are probably followers just like many other teens out there....whenever they hear the latest Eminem song or Nelly song on TRL, they immediately think its great because MTV and the radio tells them that it is. It sounds to me like they are into Rap/Hip Hop/RnB, so of course they don't want to listen to trance.
You say that they go out to clubs? Obviously not clubs that play much trance....do they mainly go to to RnB clubs?
Also, trance is a fairly intense genre to listen to, so they probably don't find it particularly pleasant to listen to in the middle of the day while chilling.
I suggest house music...... |

| most eminem tracks are in fact good. He's the only rapper who really knows how to entertain ppl with a funny/hard/good track. All the other ones i know (thus all the other commercial ones) are only bitchin about poppin a cap up a nigga's ass. |

i can be selective with trance.
it is actually when i am chilling out i will put on something else. no harm in having options.
trance music is for when i am 'doing stuff', be it dancing cleaning, gurning etc |

They go actually to trance clubs, they dance and enjoy and everything, but they just go ballistic at me when I listen to it around them at home, and not in a club.

| So they don't want to listen to trance 24/7, not everyone does. There's nothing wrong with some rap anyway, but if you want them to listen to something you'll enjoy also you could try mixing it up a little. A friend of mine hates trance, but then one day he put on a Portishead CD so I realized he wasn't totally against electronic music. Bottom line, I made a little mix of breaks and chilly house and he liked it. Try something similar; breaks in particular would probably have the best chance of being tolerated since it's perhaps closest to rap in terms of overall structure. |
