Audiophile USB SUCKS - plain and simple
I bought that worthless box of when I built my computer a few months back.. NONE of the inputs can be heard in real time, it can't record system audio (EX. a movie being played in WMP), and on top of that it's horribly unstable.
M-Audio should be ashamed to have their name on that product.
If you want to hook up a microphone, your going to have to get a different sound card becuase neither the Audiophile USB or PCI support a direct input from a microphone. You would have to get a pre-amp I believe (stated in the manual)
Both of the Audiophiles can have there levels altered in the Windows Sound Panel, each has their own sound panel where this can be done.
However, all is not lost. If I were you I would sell that Audiophile USB ASAP and get an Audiophile PCI - I have NEVER had a problem with the PCI version it records system audio, the inputs can be heard in real time... and it's ROCK SOLID STABLE.. |
