I'm no pro at raving either. I just improvise, watch how other people do it....
....and consume A LOT of alcohol so I can get crazier.
If anyone laughs, just kick the out of them. :toothless |

I'm sorry to say Lani, no one in Orlando is REALLY into glowsticking. A few people maybe here and there, but not many.
Why?
Well my guess is glowsticking is still VERY young. Compared to classical styles (Fox Trot, Tango, stuff like that) and earlier ubran dances (Gliding, Breaking, tutting). Glowsticking doesn't have very deep roots, plus many people have a misconception that everyone that does it is ALWAYS on some drug. (I myself, have never, will probably never, take stuff like E, or acid/LSD because there will probably never be a time in my life when I want to take it.)
This alone will take away from common folk, but add to that expectations from some people are enormous. Sometimes people are expecting some sort of miricle.... :conf:. Lets face it, people are attracted to light. It's warm, caring, thoughtful, embracing it attracts people like ants to a picnick. We manipulate light, and many times people don't like it because of that. Anyway those are my psuedo philiphopical (sp?) reasons. If any of that made sense. :haha:
This won't apply to freehanders, but many people don't like stringers because many stringers tend to take up A LOT of space. Double your arm span (hopefully they use both their hands), times that by 3.14 (i'm not sure of that's the forumula for area someone please correct me). The forumula should give you some sort of estimate a person would take with strings. Often times that's valuble dancing room. Plus sometimes stringers pushy! Using space that's not really there, then that leads to people getting smacked by a glowstick going 15-20 mph maybe faster, not pleasant at all. That's why I wait for an opening most of the time made by breakers (which also take up a lot of space and I've been hit by them before, yet HOB allows them to keep dancing. I've never been hit by a glowstringer. But that's totally off subject) but I will never be pushy again. (Yeah I did that a few times, sorry to say)
Anyway, this was wrote all on a whim.... hopefully it made sense... I dunno.... I just love dancing. Peace! |
