a new track, has a sort of anthemic melody that I came upon by accident when I was trying to make a prog house track. Elements of the house track were taken away, more and more trance elements were added, leaving me with this.

thanks!

I'm listening to More to Say right now, it's good but I have many criticisms! :toothless

First of all, you have a distinct style and sound, which I think has a lot of potential. It's more the technical sides of the track that aren't doing it for me.

It's a trancey track all right, the first problem is it's too slow for trance...I also wish the kick were a bit stronger, punchier. Your percussion is really really minimal, which can get really repetitive after a while...I think you should add more hihats and high sounds in general, maybe a clap, snares would be excellent.

Your bassline is cool, it's a neat sound. Reminds me of a combination of Ronski Speed and Coldharbour styles :p Again, though, it doesn't really suit the trancey feel...I think you should tweak it and make it a little more driving and rolling. As with the kick, it just needs to sound more energetic.

The tune structure is good but the big issue is that by the 1:30 mark, you're entering a breakdown! There's no buildup to it...that's something you really need to add...and a buildup to come out of the breakdown. The melody has potential, again, I'd like to hear it become more complex, more multilayered.

Basically, what I'm trying to say is that in its current state, it sounds like an extremely anthemic, energetic peak-time trance track that's been really muffled. It's frustrating, cause I keep waiting for it to break out in a gigantic burst of melody and emotion that never comes...with some tweaking this could really be a stormer =P

I hope I don't sound too arrogant here, I don't know the first thing about production anyway...just my suggestions. Keep up the good work, I look forward to hearing more of your stuff!

Edit: haven't heard Push, I'll try to comment on it when I get the chance.

thanks for the long review

push is more of the style I like to make (and is my fave out of the 2), but I guess i'll work on 'more to say' another week.

updated..

well its obvious by the feedback I don't think many were feelin the previous version. I changed the kick, added some percussion, changed some pads, and edited the melody and the bassline a bit. check it out, tell me what you think!

peace.
