Richard, it's no joke!
there is a need for a "say no to cheese" alliance. As of late, many trance tallents have been somewhat lazy. Labels release utter crap and it really makes my ears bleed, that's for sure. Not only it was my opinion that there has been alot of cheese being released as of late but alot of my DJ buddies have agreed. Not only from the tranceaddict community but other members from other countries and other communities have agreed that there is a large volume of cheese released just late 2003 and early 2004.
What this alliance campaigns for is better quality music from the producers and better quality trance from the labels. As a DJ, i don't think that is too much to ask. As far as support goes, i refuse to get cheesy records because that costs me money. Also many indpendent DJs like myself agreed not to buy the crap that has been stocking up in record shops lately.
If enough DJs get together and show our disaproval to the labels, sooner or later, someone will get a hint. As for respect and support goes, the cheesyness level is inversely proportional to the support that i will show to any of the labels out there. If enough little guys like myself around the world boycotted all cheese, labels hopefully will realize their misdirection(s).
simply put like a good friend of mine says: Support those who support you.
Just remember: say NO to cheese. |
