Okay not bust like ... though it'd have to be this Danish player I saw once she had a rack on her.
But what I really meant was the worst purchase. This past year I'd have to say it was Rivaldo on Milan. That surprised me the most. Also Maccarone on Mdlsbrgh, he was much better than that in Italy.
In the past - where was the last place Anelka did good??? seems like everywhere he went the just sold him next year. And Sergei Rebrov, beautiful career at Kyiv then moved to Spurs and I don't even know if he plays anymore.
I'm sure there's been worse ones but I can't think of them. |

At the moment, Hugo Viana at Newcastle. Was European young player of the year, had likes of Juventus sniffing around him, and joined Newcastle for 8.5million at 18. He's now 21 and has never got a decent run of games in the side. In fact he's lucky if he can get 10 minutes at the end of a game.
Hopefully he can find a way in the side soon, otherwise I can see us selling him for a few million and he'll go on to be a world class payer in Europe :mad:
Marcelino was another one for Newcastle. The award really must go to Carl Cort though. Newcastle paid 7million pound for him, but he spent the next 4 years out with injury, then we sold him for 2 million this January. He played 12 games. |

i dont think any of these could be called a bust because given the potential talent of the players before the buy , you cant really blame the club if the player failed to adapt .... but if u take that aside it would have to be
veron and djemba djemba by united
heskey and diouf by liverpool
rivaldo by milan (although they got him on a free)
i cant wait for the transfer window to open at the end of this season ... there so many gr8 players being linked with other clubs this year .. hope the one linking van der vaart with united turns out to be true :tongue2 |
