Aphex Twin is one weird-ass producer... This is the first of his stuff I've heard, and... yeah well. It's weird. Really weird.
Omgyjya-switch is quite good, and I think the rest of the album will be, too, after some listening...
Am I correct? |

| The term is IDM (Intelligent Dance Music)...but Aphex Twin hates the term. Drukqs is one of my favorite albums; Mt Saint Michel + Saint Michaels Mount is probably my favorite track from it. You should check out his other albums too. Flim, from Come To Daddy is such a great track. If you like really ambient stuff, check out Aphex Twin's Selected Ambient Works albums, I think there are two of them. |

Richard D James is a mathematical composer when it comes to his tracks.
Selected Ambient Works vol II is the only album i have. Is there a vol I or did he just put Vol II as a joke?:confused: |

i think when it comes to richard d james, his workings arnt really treated the same way as what any ordinary producer would treat theyre tracks. aphex twin tracks are more of an artform.. a picasso of music if you will. i have the come to daddy EP on 12" and the windowlicker EP too. come to daddy is probably one of my fave tracks of all time for its sheer raw dark energy. and i cant remember if it is flim or baucephalaus bouncing ball that i like also. where theres the voice of a young girl saying 'ah you dirty little boy, dirty little boy' then another girls voice saying 'watching the water go past in the canal' then scarily as the voice turns into what my brain can only tell me is that of a goblin. seriously atmospheric music, chopped together with the most perculiar samples.... makes for great listening in my book :)
