i spent a year in macedonia and kosovo as a UN soldier. it is not uncommon that foreign soldiers has taught kids to say what the kids think are greetings or something nice in english/swedish/any language but really means something different (read: curse words, sex words). i havent seen the holding signs thing but i am not surprised. it is not photoshopped i believe, the soldier in the picture made them think it was something nice and they dont understand english. i cant be sure, but based on my experience this is how you would do it.
and yeah, it is not funny. a soldier is most likely there to help them (hopefully) and shouldnt be taking the piss of the people he is supposed to help. |
