| Saw this mixer in action the other day, looks nice, but the price really reflects it . . . does anybody have this mixer and use it for EDM/Trance mixing, what what do you think? Would you choose this over a PCV-275 or something along those lines? Is it worth it to just save up for a DJM-500? |

| the 500 blows imo!!!!! 300 is nice it's a solid mixer but I personally don't prefer it. I've always had a blast spinning on the PCV-275. I just like the feel of the mixer and the way you can use it. But if you're going to go with the pioneer series I would stick with a 600 or higher. You will never be happy until you own one of those. You're limited on the 500 let alone even more on the 300. Just my .02 but everyone has their own opinion :) . |

| but doesn't the Vestax have less features than the 500? I mean, the pioneer has effects, along with 4 channels for more expandability, etc. I would think that the DJM 500/600 would be an upgrade from the PCV. I wouldnt mind having either, I just dont understand why you would think that the Vextax is better . . . |

More doesn't always equal better.
The PCV is very sturdy and undestructible ( to some extent of course ).
And in regards to effects; well; I don't know if you need them.
But I personally won't comment on either; I hate them both :stongue: |

| I hope that it's not cheese because there seems to be a alot of cheesey hard trance out there today. hard trance has a melody too. |

Turntable Lab said it best regarding the DJM300 vs DJMs 500 & 600. I quote from their site:
| quote: | | High end compact mixer that maintains the superior quality 3 band eq and auto beat counters of the higher priced Pioneer mixers; Price difference only reflected in the absence of the extra channels; and the sampler and effects of the higher priced models. |
'nuff said. If I needed an affordable backup mixer for my empath, the DJM300 in black would be first on the list.
Cheers... |

I've always wondered this as well . . . is it the kills? maybe its cause the 275 has its gold color while the 175 is stuck with ghey blue . . |

175's are . there is NO cue plf monitor leds....so you cant check the level of the tune comming in.
its not ALL about features either. IMO the 257 is a much bettermixer than the pioneer. sounds better, i prefer the feel of the faders, and i find it genrally more precise than the 'clumsy' 500.
go any try them both tho, mixers are quite a personal thing. |

| I currently own a DJM 500 (Selling it soon tho...) and my thoughts on it are this. Only thing making it attractive is the 4 channels and effects. It's sound quality is surprisingly low for something at its price. |
