| Anyone see dateline on Columbine tonight? It was really painful to see how the police repeatedly ignored all the warning signs leading up to the shooting. During the shooting while the victims were pleading for help, the police stood by doing nothing. Only after the killers were finished methodically executing the victims and had committed suicide did the police see fit to inch their way into the building. 3 1/2 hours later they finally reached a teacher who had bleed to death while waiting to be rescued. Five years later the police have refused to disclose what they knew and hid or destroyed records related to the incident! To serve and protect what a joke. :whip: |

Cops. What a joke.
That Columbine was a disaster...a storm....
Only in books and movies did I think that could happen. |

i dont think you understand the situation, they had to secure the school before they could evacuate the wounded teacher, if they had taken him out a kid could have easliy started shooting, they had no information on who was who, thats why when you see teh footage, kids are running out with there hands on there heads. As for not taking action, have you ever seen a bank or hostage crisis live or read about one. They usually wait hours and hours before they go in. Tehy were doing everything the way it should have been |

It wasn't like they didn't know what was going on inside the building. They were getting repeated calls from the kids and teachers inside telling them they were shooting anyone that moved and were not taking hostages. How can you explain standing outside (with body armor and assault rifles) for over 1/2 hour while hearing repeated gunfire? Sickening. |

I'd have to agree with that in the sense that the cops could ing walk in there and 0wn those little kids. Sure, victims could die in the process, but it's not like standing out there waiting prevented that from happening. Quite the opposite actually. |

| They didn't know where the gunman were. While I think they took too much time, you can't criticize them for not wanting to rush into a hostile zone. It's easy to say they ed up in hindsight, but think of how they felt during the situation. You only hear about the -ups, not the times they risked their lives and succeeded. |

I guess someone forgot to call in John Mclane and deal with the situation...
Cops to only serve tickets and protect themselves. Unless your Mr.Mclane, then your just a bad-ass. |

yep your right, that body armor can stop anything, it also works really well with the Propane and pipe bombs with nails strapped to the outside of them that they were hearing from outside.
they didnt know what was going on inside, i think they phone calls from the kids saying there were gunmen on the inside shooting people was already apparent |

great, but what is sueing for millions of dollars going to do?? is that going to bring back their loved one? they did it for the money.
anybody see, i think it was dateline or 60minutes, where that couple was sueing the docters because they didnt notice that their unborn baby had cerebral palsy, an uncurably disease that even in the womb could not be stopped, yet they are sueing for 240 million dollars, which the doctors will not have, and their 6million malpractice insurance will not cover./ |

yea, ill second that.
there is a massive difference between something happening now and hindsight.
I didn't see the report though so I can only go off of what you guys are saying and what I remember. but I doubt I would place too much blame on cops, yes they do serve tickets a lot, and those tickets are a pain int he ass, but if your pissed about tickets shouldn't you be mad at the people that pass those laws? I mean cops just enforce existing laws, they would not have a jjob if they didn't enforce laws.
I get a feeling that this report was just playing off emotion and blame shifting... |

If it was apparent they were shooting ppl why would you wait outside until they were finished? Isn't their job to go into harms way and save defenseless kids being shot to death. Nah better be safe and play it by the book. |
