hello all,
not sure if y`all aware that Bellsouth if offering a new DSL service, FastAccess Xtreme, for $5 more a month. You get a free Static IP too (do not really like this though.)
3MBPS downstream / 384KBPS upstream

I'll definitely upgrade some time this week, as I seen many good reviews on their ADSL support newsgroups!

Thanks, Im upgrading as I write.. but this is what I bumped into in the process ( where you choose the upgrade.. ) this is what it says on the bottom...
* $50.00 activation fee. Modem or gateway required for service; may be purchased separately. $14.95 shipping fee if purchased from BellSouth
Do I need to pay the activation fee?.. IM I supposed to get a new modem?!?! .. Please help ASAP!.

wtf. just call them and tell them if your current modem will work just fine.
dont pay extra money if you dont need to upgrade.

Ok great.. no I don't need to pay the $50 dollar actiavtion fee, and no need to buy a modem. YaY I activated it.. it should take like 24-72 hrs or something.. IM waiting for my activation #. |

| yo arturo i called and they said the static ip is optional. my friend is gonna get it, ima pay him the $5 difference and use his login. ;) ;) ;) and switch to dsl lite :toocool: |

| My Xtreme DSL was just activated today....awesome!!! Getting over 300k for downloads, and between 360-400kbps upstream. If you don't have it, get it! :D |

| Bellsouth sucks, ty service for a ty price, comcast is gret, their speed is awy faster then their updates crap and for $5 cheaper a month, forget bellsouth people!!! |
