Cubase SX/Fruityloops Tutorial

just wondering if anyone has any links for basic Cusbase SX and Fruityloops..
im trying to get my head around these programs, and need some pointers/help on where i goto create my own bassline and melodies etc.
any starting points would be a big help.

| A good starting point would be the producer's forum and not the music discussion forum. On that note, an even better place would be the stickies within that forum. |

The trick with using fruityloops is not to actually use the sounds and instruments they have provided. What that means is you need to obtain good quality samples.... and good quality instruments...
This is the reason why so many producers in fruity write crap music that doesnt sound proffesional at all.
Second thing is.... you will need to do a lot of reading... whether that be on composition, track structure, EQing, Compression, Limiting, Synth Programming, Effects etc.
Last piece of advice I will provide... dont try and copy other producers... Theres lots of noobs out there trying to be the next Ferry or the next Tiesto, trying to copy their style.
