I want to put my tax refund to good use and buy a bike this summer. But I don't want to buy one of those crappy bikes from Canadian Tire. My budget is around $500 including taxes but I'm not willing go over $600. I'm looking for a mountain bike but nothing too hardcore (in other words - expensive.) So all you TOTA biking experts come to my rescue. :) Know any good stores I should check out? Also, what are your favorite biking trails in Toronto?
Thank you in advance.
ps. A friend said some stores downtown are selling their 2003 models with big discounts. Any news on these stores? |

| best trails are in around the don valley and taylor creek areas...just cruise around and follow some muddy riders around, you'll find the trails. some sweet trails i used to hit em up all the time, will do this week hopefully. Cycle solutions is good place, theres one on parliment where the streetcars go. |

| Everytime I glance at this thread topic all I read is Bikini in Toronto. And then, I think to myself who wants to know about Bikinis in Toronto and then I look who wrote the thread and I giggle and then realize again and again that it is talking about Bikes not bathing suits. |

Rocco, if I ever wanted to buy a bikini I'll make sure you're the first person I talk to. I'm sure must have a VIP membership at bikini village. :tongue2 |

I bought a Hardrock Sport (Specialized) not too long ago. Their cafe racer if you will(I think they even call it that). Uh disc breaks kick ass so if you want to spend the dough I'd up it to that. I got my bike stolen though (I don't know about that one...I'll probably cry if I think about it too much).
But the hardrocks for your price range are sweet rides. They eat for dinner.
Solid front shocks, and the gearing is nice. Its a nice step up fo sho. CCM and co it aint. |
