Does this mean that you won't be taking any more risks? |

The ambulance drivers when they got there thought that whoever was in the car was dead. Said it was one of the worst crashes like that theyve seen. They wouldnt stop saying how lucky I was... |
Wow, lucky. I assumed you were outside of the car when it rolled off, because, well, look at the car! lol
I just assumed you somehow bailed out of the car as it gracefully rolled towards the edge at ~10km/h or something. |

I ALWAYS wear a seatbelt. People who dont are friggin retards. I would be DEAD right now if I hadnt. You dont see this coming. it all happened crazy fast. You might think you could pull out of a drift around a corner...well you can, and I was, but there was a semi truck coming up the other way that i had to dodge.
Life is beyond your control sometimes. Protect yourself. |

yeah, I had my seatbelt on. It was 9:30 am, so no beer :D
Ironically I was driving it to the shop to get it fixed so I could sell it. Some chick was going like 2 mph down the hill so I passed her (she pulled over) and I did an anger shift into second gear around a corner. Apparently the road was a little slick. It was ass cold and wet, so maybe a lil black ice. If I hadnt been shifting so hard, it wouldnt have happened.
As it was, it was deemed a no fault accident. I got 1500 dollars less than what was left on my loan, but i guess in the end 1500 bucks aint that bad. I spent 7 grand on my bike, and its all paid off...just gotta be crazy careful. I took the money out of what I was saving for a house so i owe myself 10 grand back....

so you had road rage essentially? |

there are educated risks, and uneducated ones. A race track for example. That is a calculated risk.
Passing someone blind around a corner is a stupid one.
A motorcycle is a risk in of itself technically, but I am aware and thinking all the time. I just know that I used up my get out free card, so im pretty tame these days. You dont get to live when you go off a cliff on a bike. |

no it was messed up. people were getting all sliced up just from picking up the glass, but i didnt have a scratch on me.
Literally looked like the Hand of God was around whoever was in the drivers seat.
oh and the other cool thing about that crash...I was 20 at the time (1 month before 21) and had a half rack in the back seat which exploded approximately the same instant it realized I was in a bad situation and needed to it up.
Luckily, the cop was the same one who dealth with me when a chick going the wrong way on a one way street hit me. So he didnt give me MIP or anything, and didnt ask again after I told him I wasnt drinking. Phew. I was freaked about that MIPs mess you all up. |

That sucks.. road rage is a huge problem around Northern Virginia and DC. I don't let it bother me too much (because i have a slow old car and i cant whip around people) but some people can be real jerks and s, unfortunately.
Its a tough lesson, but a lesson learned in your case. I just wish other drivers on the road could see their mortality in statements and pictures like yours |

Doesn't sound like the smartest decision. What do you drive 6 months out of the year when its too cold to drive a bike? You live in Canada, one of the coldest climates i can think of? :conf: |

You learned from it and you survived. The rest of it sucks, but at least you are still around to talk about it. The seatbelt saved your life. I used to do product allegation investigations for a major automobile manufacturer and rollovers don't cause as many deaths as one might think if the occupant was wearing their seatbelt. Good for you. ;) |
