I was thinking about getting this. What do people think of this mixer? Only people who've actually used it please tho.

I haven't used it (sorry), but I was very interested in the PPD01 as well and found these articles on it. Hope they are helpful.

I have it and I have to say it's pretty good. It only supports two channels, though, so you can't be wanting to spin from three sources at once or anything like that. Also, if you're thinking about scratching with it, I suggest you test it out first to check the feeling of the crossfader and such. People who scratch can be pretty picky about such things. One thing I particularly like is that the eqs all have a complete cut, which is pretty nice. One more thing is that I wouldn't buy it for the effects, since they can be kind of fiddly. If you buy the mixer, and then find out that you can use them, all the more power to you, but I wouldn't make them a strong selling point. Hope this helps. If you have any more questions, write again, though I might not be able to respond for a few days (I'm visiting colleges ;) ).

Thanks for tips guys. I went ahead and bought it. I'm getting it pretty cheap too, £200 instead of about £320 so all in all it looks like a good deal. Like you said I dunno how much I'll actually use the effects but the filters on the eq's might come in handy, and hopefullt it's pretty solid. Also I doubt in the near future I'll be needing 3 channels.

i have the same mixer and its really good...its both for scratching (instant cut) and normal mixing. that knob next to the effects selector does lots of things and the fx dont sound broken (flanger rulez)
the only thing i would trade it with would be a djm 600:P

Yeah it's great I've been around playing with it. Only one problem tho I've had problems mixing I'm having too much fun playing with the effects!!!

Glad you like it. :)

I am really pleased with it. I'm trying not to use the ffects for awhile to get used to just the eq'd and stuff first and a bit of the filters. Which I think are gonna be ace once I work out how to shift from filters to eq's without a level drop, I've been using the hold thing but I still get a slight drop is there anyway to make it not happen?

One thing I noticed is the sound quality and noise ratio of it, on sound forge you know when your about to record a mix there are thouse green bars for the levels. My previous mixer had a crap noise ratio and the bars played around about a third of the way up without the needle on the record! With this mixer they are basicly firmly at zero you can hardly see them.

Quick question about the PPD01 . . . does it have kills? switch or button? I haven't seen a close-up picture of one, and can't seem to find one . . .

Also is there a difference between the PPD01 and the PDM01? I've seen this mixer with both of those model #'s on the faceplate . . .

It doesn't have button or switch kills. But the eq knobs are massive and as such it's really easy to kill a freq quickly, and also with these eq's totally i.e. all eq's down then no sound atall will come out.
